Old Swan — Restaurant in Liverpool

A couple of days ago I tried to enter this pub in order to buy a pint. Whilst trying to enter I noticed that a young woman, about mid thirties in age, was slumped, sitting on the floor in the doorway, she was obviously upset and asking for help. I, with the kind help of another man, who was passing by, managed to get the woman to her feet. I informed the staff of the pub about the woman's plight and then I waited patiently for about 10-15 minutes to get served whilst they called the authorities in order for them to help the woman. I managed to eventually get my drink and a short time later, the man who served me informed me that he thought that I was with the distressed woman, implying that I had left her in the doorway, entered the pub and bought a drink. He said that he wanted me to leave after I had finished the drink that I had just patiently waited 10-15 minutes for, even though there were no other customers waiting to get served. Considering the fact that I had never met the woman before in my life and that I only tried to help her whilst she was slumped in the pub doorway, I feel highly insulted as the barman was at least implying that I am a liar and also that I am cruel, uncaring and heartless. I hadn’t been here for a while until today, what a change and very much for the better. The staff are fantastic, the service is very fast and friendly; the beer is perfect and the atmosphere is amazing. The venue is very clean and tidy, the tables were wiped regularly and empty glasses removed immediately; the staff didn’t stop, if they weren’t serving the were stocking the bar or cleaning and stopped whatever they were doing to serve customers as fast as possible. The friendly manager with a North Eastern accent welcomed customers as they arrived and thanked them as the were leaving. It’s a completely different place to the White House of old. I’ll definitely be returning there before other venues in the area. It’s very well run and a credit to the staff, management and owners.

I visited the old swan a few weeks ago with some friends for the first time and honestly we had the best time! The team were amazing and quick at serving. A big shout out to Cody the girl who served us, she was so polite, friendly and really accommodated us with choices of drinks! There was a wide variety of drinks to choose from and even had 2’4’1 on cocktails. We need more pubs like this one, I definitely recommend.
