Visited the kissing gate on Saturday before our flight, for drinks and food. Walked in and there were few tables cleared, glasses and plates not collected over a lot of tables. Sat down and the app to order online wasn’t working so went up to the bar to order. I ordered fish and chips, but they didn’t have any so I asked for chicken tikka which they also didn’t have, so asked for lasagna which again they didn’t have. I asked what they did have and it was pretty much just the burgers, so we ordered two chicken burgers, one with pulled pork, a double vodka and coke and a pint, it came to £58.70. Overpriced but expected at an airport. Food arrived relatively quickly, but portions were small for 17.49 per meal. Asked the server for cutlery for the chips which apparently they didn’t have as there were no clean cutlery. The server then proceeded to walk back to the bar without collecting any glasses/plates/cutlery from any of the surrounding tables. It wasn’t particularly busy, so to not have any clean cutlery and few clean tables to sit at is not good. Flying out of Liverpool Airport is a brilliant experience, massively let down by the largest food outlet in the airport. It is very concerning looking at other reviews, evidently this is not an isolated experience we had. Some serious attention needs to be paid to service standards at the kissing gate, and quickly.

Tuesday 20/8/24 I’m to belfast. so thought give the kissing gate a go for a coffee and a bite. i ordered a flat white and an all butter croissant with jam and butter via their why Queue when order from the table. i ordered £8 74 and waited, waited waited …. the croissant was delivered minus the jam and butter no safety knife , I asked the assistant for both butter and jam as per their menu. the reply was no we ain't got no jam or butter. so i returned it as it wasn't per their menu. i then waited for the coffee. it finally came . was more like an ice flat white as id waited for a while. A girl brought this. just the cup no saucer… terrible sloppy service, i understand its busy and its minimum wage minimum effort. third time in a while and no improvements on service here. Id say go else where but its the main place to go in the airport

Don't eat here. First time, I ordered veggie burger, came 45 minutes later (which is a great waiting time at an airport - luckily flight was delayed too), received burnt burger with dirty cutlery and never got sauces I asked for multiple times. Thought it was a fluke, tried again. Was less busy, so food arrived in only 20 minutes - fish basket. It consisted of cold incredibly greasy tiny piece of fish, 2 calamaris and 3 small prawns - at £16, right bargin. Add the constant smell of burning from the kitchen and slow disinterested staff, what a winner. Big shame that this is the only place at the airport with any views.

Very incompetent in regards to customer service skills, we were 4 people here, tried to order via “scan to order” but could not do it, system most likely not functioning well. Went to the bar, been told not to use apple pay and try again. Went back tried paying by debit card, same issue, went to the bar again and they said to use another card, now at this point all four people tried different cards and THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN!! Went back to the bar again to ask why is saying that there is issue with the payment? Lady that we tried to speak to was arrogant and rude, literally we been told if we don’t like something we free to go somewhere else as they have plenty of customers, how bad is that? Finally we stay at the bar and place our order. Food comes pretty fast, tastes nice, however green tea and pineapple juice was not brought to us when they brought our order, we start eating our breakfast and wait for the remaining drinks, 20 minutes later and still no drinks. We see the same lady, and ask about our drinks, she almost yells at us that everything should have been brought to us there and then when they brought our order, in the end it turned out that our drinks have been sitting at the bar on the side! Green tea was almost cold, instead of pineapple juice they poured apple juice, nice place and the food was delicious but customer service...

AVOID!!! We had to ask for the free table we found to be cleaned, we were unable to order the food we wanted from the menu on the table as it didn't match the menu on the app we were encouraged to order from and after compromising as we were hungry.... we were told by staff that it would be a twenty five minute wait for one of the meals as "it would have to be made from scratch" in a tone that insinuated we were being a hindrance.

This was after we had to move because they were closing the area we were in despite the fact they were busy and we had to make a dash for another free table to beat the other clientele, including new people arriving.

We asked the server for a refund as we wouldn't have time to eat if we waited, but one of us wasn't going to eat while the other sat with nothing and it wasn't even what we had wanted anyway.

Then after queuing at the bar to get our refund.. we were told that we wouldn't get the full refund because we had used the app to order and there was a charge for using the app they encouraged us to use, but they had no control over that.

Neither my fiance or I have ever been put through so much hassle, the whole ordeal was a farce and we will be telling everyone to avoid that...
