To spend a nice week-end in London I decided to take a friend for lunch at Peckham Levels and we choose to go to 081 which is the best Italian pizzeria in Peckham without any doubts, here you can have a proper neapolitan pizza made by the great Chef Andrea and staff. Booking has to be made online prior the arrival where all the rules are well explained and a discount voucher is offered. Once there, we have been escorted by the receptionist that shown our table next to the window where we enjoyed the view. To see the menu we used the QR and Barcode Scanner app on mobile phone an easy and fast way to order but also we have been approach straight away by the Chef Andrea with greetings and help of any kind. We started with two bites “crocché” made with mashed potatoes covered in crispy bread crumbs and “frittatina” made with cheese and bolognese sauce, both delicious! =') To follow we ordered one “Mushrooms and Truffle” pizza and one “Mortadella and Pistachio” pizza with a whole creamy burrata cheese on top of this last one. ^_^ Good pizza’s portion, very well presented with a soft, elastic, tender and fragrant out of ordinary served by Georgina, a very cheerful young lady with exceptional costumer service with which we had a really nice conversation about her singer and artistic side career. Once finished our tasteful meals a hostess came by the table asking if we would like to stay an hour longer than the two hours limited time due to Covid restrictions and my friend, which is a respectable professional photographer took the occasion to snap the 081 Pizzeria venue, Chef Andrea and staff while preparing the pizzas. A huge thank you to Chef Andrea for his incredible passion, talent and kindness, to all his team for make us feel comfortable all the time. I highly recommend 081 Pizzeria to anyone that want to have a taste of typical Italian food from Naples!...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting this incredible restaurant, and I’m thrilled to say that my experience was nothing short of outstanding! As someone who grew up in Napoli, with the phone area code 081 (hence the restaurant's name), I had high expectations. I’m happy to report, they were more than met!
The moment I tasted the frittatina, I was instantly transported back to my childhood in Italy. It perfectly captured the essence of Neapolitan street food, evoking all the warm, nostalgic flavours I remember so well. Then came the pizza – quality ingredients, perfectly executed 10/10.
Of course a classic Neapolitans favourite to finish – the Babà. It was the ideal way to end a memorable meal, with the flavour that every Neapolitan knows and loves.
Andrea, the owner (and a dear friend of mine), is an exceptional host. His passion for food is evident in every dish he serves, and you can feel the heart and soul he pours into his restaurant. Like every true Neapolitan, he embodies a deep love for his culinary traditions.
If you're craving authentic Neapolitan flavors, I can’t recommend this place enough. "Provare per credere" – try it, and...
Read moreThey are in top 50 worldwide and gambero Rosso top Italian restaurant 2024 and for a very good reason!! We ended up here on a lazy rainy Saturday afternoon and had the Truffle cacio e Pepe and Diavola and they were both incredibly tasty. We compare with top pizza places in London and this is really good traditional Italian pizza. As far as we’re concerned, probably the best we’ve had ever and that includes pizza we had in Italy (and one of us is Italian!!). The ingredients are very fresh and high quality and the pizza has a lot of character, not only comfort food and extremely tasty but also very interesting. We loved the atmosphere with the original Salerno plates and cozy warm dining room. The staff are extremely friendly and fun and had us try extra slices from their own pizza choices. Overall, highly recommended if you’re into pizza and honestly even if you aren’t! 10/5 stars! Well done, and we look forward to coming again to try the rest of the pizzas! See...
