I’ve heard a lot about Nola, so I had to visit and see for myself. The café boasts a lovely aesthetic with a modern and inviting design. However, the vibe could be improved—the music was far too loud and not the type that suits a relaxed café atmosphere.

As for the coffee, I had high expectations, especially after hearing about their impressive coffee machine. Unfortunately, the espresso I tried was a bit too acidic for my taste. Perhaps it would have been better with milk or as an Americano. On the other hand, the hot chocolate was exceptional. It’s clear they use high-quality cocoa flakes rather than powder, making it one of the best hot chocolates I’ve had in a while.

I also tried the grilled panini, which I had heard good things about. While they used at least two different types of flavorful cheese, there wasn’t enough to balance the thick sourdough bread, which ended up overpowering the sandwich. I opted not to add extras like kimchi, thinking the panini would be sufficient on its own, but in hindsight, more ingredients might have made it more enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t classify it as a great cheese panini, and I don’t think I’d order it again.

It’s worth noting that there’s no WiFi available, which I suppose aligns with their policy of making space for non-laptop users. This is an interesting model for a café, and I appreciate the concept. The prices are moderate, which is reasonable given the location in Peckham. The staff are quick and lovely, with some baristas even crafting beautiful latte art. The presentation of the drinks is consistently excellent.

A lot of people seem to love the cinnamon bun so if you’re unsure what to order, perhaps it will be a...

I am wondering why coffees are on average 30p more expensive than the rest of London ? having the most expensive equipment and the most fashion design does not mean you are making good coffees. I understand that after a 2 hours rush and 250 coffees later it is not always easy to keep it consistent but I tried a second time at a much more quiet time and the coffee is still bitter.

Too bad we cannot add an answer. It is a shame that you felt attacked. I did not meant to hurt you. That is not a reason to attack me on my ability to make the difference between sour, bitter and acid. Your answer shows perfectly how superior you think you are. And that is definitely a vibe that we can feel in your coffee shop. To be a bit more precise in my critic, your coffee taste like the roasting date is too close to your brew. Which makes the coffee beans full of Co2 and makes all the acid coming up. Also the flavours of bitterness in the coffee are not the natural bitter flavour present in coffee. It is burn bitter flavour probably coming from a too strong press combined with a too fine grind. Thank you, again I am not attacking you. I am just trying to give a review. And you can check my other reviews, when it is good I am not...

I came here with a friend for a quick lunch bite having passed it regularly and always seeing that it’s busy. The environment is quite busy and not very comfortable. I opted for a decaff latte as I’m 39 weeks pregnant- and it was good. I liked the mugs and aesthetically it was pleasing. I chose a cheese and marmite pastry which wasn’t bad. I did ask for it to be warmed though which if it was, was nowhere near warm enough and basically still cold. Food choices seemed sparse but we were there on a Tuesday lunch time. The staff seemed very unbothered and when I asked the girl for some tissues it seemed as though I was asking her for the hugest favour. She gave me my food with no cutlery or tissues. Same when I went to the loo, the man I ran into seemed as though he was doing me a favour by letting me use the loo. None of the staff that we encountered smiled or seemed as though they cared about customers wellbeing. Other than that, would I visit again? Probably not as it’s overpriced (albeit typical for London), not much choice in drinks or food, not comfortable enough for somewhere I’d stay for long and not welcoming/inviting enough in terms of...

Went in today for the first time since the refurb. What were you thinking?! I’m so sad about what you’ve done to the place. It was lovely before, it felt so warm and cheerful and was a genuinely nice experience. Completely different now, really depressing in fact. Atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. I ordered my drink anyway, and after pouring the milk into the cup, the lady left it there to go and serve someone who had just walked in. I thought that was really strange - would have made more sense to finish making my drink before attending to someone else. Someone else came from the back and ended up making it. Then, I asked for a straw for my iced latte and was told “it’s a sippy cup”. That’s great in theory, but it’s impossible to mix properly just by trying to swirl it around. So I ended up with a layer of pure milk at the bottom and a bunch of coffee escaping from the seam after attempting to mix it. Disappointing. The new seating looked awfully uncomfortable and uninviting, and very awkward, and the food being on display on open shelves was very unappetising. What a shame.
