Experience of picking up the weekend specials including Halwa Puri :
Quite simply ...horrific. If your ok to wait an hour for your food whilst you stand outside then go for it . Alternative option is to order via Uber eats. The staff are rude because by the time they receive enough abuse for the delay from customers they start advising customers to cancel the order and provide the refund. Only after taking your money ofcourse at the beginning and promising you it will take 15 mins.... . They know they have this issue every weekend but they continue to operate this way. It will only take one alternative provider to provide the same type of food and they'll be crushed.
On the food front there is no hiding of the fact that the spicing of the curries , the softness of the puris ( albeit being super oily) , and the sweetness of the halwa is probably some of the best Pakistani breakfast I've had in East London. Im not Pakistani so that's saying alot for my appreciation of the food.
You get a lot for your money which is £6 per portion for 3 Puris, onion pickle, potato curry , chana and halwa . It can feed two honestly . However there is no hiding of the fact that the indoor restaurant is below standard, not suitable for families , staff and service is one of the worst. Credit to the chef and the flavour connoisseurs but that could change over night if they leave or if someone else does it.
Your time is limited if you don't look after the sanity of your customers and you carry on torturing them during the weekends.

Al Kareem Sweets & Bakers in East London offers a mouthwatering taste of Pakistani tradition with their weekend-only halwa puri breakfast. Here's why you should consider adding it to your culinary bucket list:
Authentic Flavors:
The halwa, a sweet semolina pudding, is perfectly balanced, not overly sweet and bursting with rich, cardamom-infused flavor. The puris, deep-fried flatbreads, are light and crispy, providing a delightful contrast to the creamy halwa. The accompanying chaney (chickpeas) and aloo (potatoes) are flavorful and well-seasoned, adding a savory element to the dish.
Beyond the Food:
The atmosphere is welcoming and casual, making it a great spot for a relaxed weekend breakfast. The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. The value for money is excellent, offering a generous portion at a reasonable price.
Additional Highlights:
For a truly immersive experience, try their lassi or Kashmiri chai, perfect complements to the halwa puri. They also offer a variety of other Pakistani sweets and savory snacks, perfect for satisfying your cravings or taking home to share.

Read moreAl Kareem Sweets, based in East London, is a must-visit spot if you’re craving a traditional Desi breakfast. Known for their weekend special – Halwa Puri – this place stands out in a sea of local options. With so many shops offering Halwa Puri in the area, it’s hard to find one that truly gets everything right. But Al Kareem Sweets delivers the full experience, and in my opinion, they’re the best around.
Their Halwa Puri combo is nothing short of delicious. The puris are light, fluffy, and perfectly golden – not oily or soggy. The chana (spicy chickpeas) are cooked to perfection with just the right kick of flavour, and the suji halwa is smooth, rich, and not overly sweet – just how it should be. It’s the kind of breakfast that hits the spot and leaves you wanting more.
What takes the meal to the next level is their sweet lassi. Thick, creamy, and served chilled, it’s the perfect companion to the spicy and savoury dishes. The lassi is mouth-watering and refreshing – easily one of the best I’ve had in East London.
Despite being busy, especially on weekends, the service is efficient and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is lively, and there’s a real sense of community among the regulars who clearly know this place is a gem.
If you’re in the area or even just visiting, Al Kareem Sweets is worth trying at least once – though odds are, you’ll be coming back. Between the top-tier Halwa Puri and the unforgettable sweet lassi, this place offers a weekend breakfast experience you don’t...
