Aozora Sushi — Restaurant in London

Ordered online. Selected delivery but once i paid the email said collection which was unexpected.

Got a notification that my order was collected when I was still on the way.

I had to call numerous times before I got through. The man on the phone misunderstood and thought I wanted to place an order, said he’s busy, and hung up.

Called again to no avail.

When I got there everything was nice and still had to wait a while.

The katsu curry sauce was curdled and sour and gone off. Called and the lady arranged a delivery via Uber as there was no driver. That was lovely.

The replacement was pork stir fry. Tasted of beef and the noodles were cuppa soup type. No flavour either. The tuna & spring onion gunkan was nice but rice soggy.

Cucumber maki was bland, and pork gyoza overcooked.

Hopefully next time...

We’ve been excited to try out this place. After several visits I must say I’m very disappointed.

The wait is always long. Staff prioritises takeaway over customers who’ve already sat down for 20-30min. The food is ok despite that it’s not authentic - wrong sauces & sides. The portions are small for the price.

Worst of all they forget something almost every time - especially with takeaways. They don’t acknowledge their mistakes unless we confront them, only then they offered to make up for their mistakes on our next visit. However, they denied what they offered when we visited so they didn’t make up for their mistake at all. We’ve visited several times so I believe we’ve given enough chances. Terrible experience. My new favourite takeaway! It's amazing to have such a good quality Japanese takeaway here. This is the sort of place I would expect to see in Romford or Hornchurch!

I collected a donburi at lunch time and the food was very quick, the chef seemed pleased to be there (always a good sign!) and absolutely delicious! So much so that we ordered it for dinner the next day!! Which was delicious again, especially the sushi! My only problem was they packed hot and cold food together but I will request it be packed seperate in the future.

The prices are a fair bit more on food delivery apps but that's to be expected and still well worth the price, but for the best value go to the store yourself, there is a large car park...
