This was unthinkable!! Usually I don’t leave bad reviews but both the community and whoever owns the business must know. I called em up on Friday afternoon to book a table for 6 for Saturday (next day) evening. A person named ‘Sumona’ answered the phone was polite and when I asked if they actually do authentic Thai food which she confirmed. I called her again on Saturday afternoon confirming that we will be there on time. Now the moment we went to the restaurant (decor was nice) at 8pm there were literally no customers and on a Saturday. Staff’s working at the front had absolutely no clue how to welcome customers just chatting amongst themselves (we thought it’s alright as long as the food is ok). We ordered satay chicken (half cooked photo attached and peanut’s weren’t even crushed image the sauce ) prawn dumplings (only thing that was eatable) and 2 different currys with jasmine rice and 2 pad thai and 1 drunken noodles and 1 stir fries with drinks of course. Believe it or not .. all the noodles were exactly the same with no spice or taste in it. Red and green currys were nothing like thai currys (they tasted worst than they looked on photo attached with this comment). It was just unbelievable !!!!! Dafaq and it’s unreal how they have got all these 4.5 stars reviews on google ??? Fake reviews (just check the names on them and profile). Their food tastes nothing like thai cuisine none of it !!! Why couldn’t you just be a bit more honest and say it’s a newly opened restaurant where you do Bangladeshi food menu better and trying to sell thai food which you prepare with no fresh ingredients, recipes or bare minimum skills!!! We were there to celebrate someone’s birthday who was visiting from abroad. You just killed our evening. A birthday meal we will never forget. Front staff could literally see we couldn’t eat what they have put on the table was never bothered to ask what was the issue. We paid 110 quid, we asked to give our cake back from the back and left the restaurant !!!

I recently had the incredible pleasure of dining at Thai Bangla Restaurant (formerly Thai Orchid). Each dish was a masterpiece of authentic Thai and Bengali fusion, crafted with the freshest ingredients and aromatic spices. Every bite was a harmony of bold, vibrant flavours truly a feast for the senses! I indulged in their Shorshe Ilish (mustard-infused hilsa fish), the special Thai Bangla Soup (a delightful twist on traditional flavors), and the Vorta Platter with steamed rice—each dish was perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and utterly delicious! The service matched the excellence of the food—attentive, friendly, and always eager to make our experience memorable. Whether you're craving authentic Thai cuisine or a unique Bengali-Thai fusion, Thai Bangla Restaurant delivers on every level. Don’t miss out—your taste buds will thank you!🍛🔥 #ThaiBanglaRestaurant #FlavorExplosion #MustTry #ThaiCuisine #FoodieHeaven

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Orchid Restaurant, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful Thai-inspired decor that set the perfect mood for a relaxed meal. The food was absolutely outstanding! Every dish was bursting with authentic Thai flavors, perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients and rich spices. The food was cooked to perfection and full of bold, delicious flavors. The portion sizes were generous, and everything yummy. The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations, making sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear they take great pride in their food and hospitality. Overall, Thai Orchid Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves Thai cuisine or simply enjoys a fantastic dining experience. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Absolutely Appalling Experience – Avoid at All Costs - Thai Orchid - Thai Bangladesh Restaurant

A recent visit to Thai Orchid - Thai Bangladesh Restaurant proved to be an utterly appalling experience, one that compels this review to warn other potential diners. It was, quite simply, a complete waste of time and money.

From the moment of arrival, a pervasive air of disinterest was palpable. The service was painfully slow and inattentive; staff appeared more preoccupied with anything but attending to guests.

Patrons endured unreasonable waits simply to receive menus, let alone place orders or receive drinks. The food itself was a massive disappointment.

The Thai dishes were consistently bland and greasy, utterly devoid of any authentic flavor or freshness. Similarly, the Bangladeshi dishes were equally poor, tasting reheated and uninspired, featuring dry meat and sauces that lacked any discernible depth.

The quality felt akin to mass-produced, low-grade fare rather than freshly prepared meals, a genuinely shocking standard given the prices. Compounding the dismay, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was concerning.

Tables felt sticky, and the general ambiance was tired and unwelcoming. This lack of attention to basic hygiene and atmosphere rendered the entire experience uncomfortable and, frankly, unappetising.

One left feeling utterly disgusted and frustrated, with the evening completely ruined. Any individual considering dining at Thai Orchid - Thai Bangladesh Restaurant is strongly advised to look elsewhere. Save your money, your time, and your taste buds. This establishment is to be avoided...

We went to this place with high hopes after following them on Facebook. The place is located way out in Elm Park in a less than salubrious surroundings near the railway station.. Few of the options on the menu was not available such as the platter, although there was nothing in the menu to say they have been withdrawn or discontinued. The other problem was the hygiene which is most concerning. At first we were sitting near the window l, which was soon populated by one or two big flies. This obviously put us offour dinner and I was about to leave. I then asked the server if you could move from the window which she allowed. I appreciate that but the fact that there was a flies in the restaurant had put me off my food. The Owner lady was very understanding as we had complained about our starter which had tasted as if they were fried in stale oil. Both me and my partner felt that as we were from a catering background previously., I had understood the problem immediately. We return the item after biting into the prawns which were in tempura coating. She did not charge us for that and we appreciate that. However, I would recommend this restaurant for quite tasty food. It was not bad but not as good as we had expected. But the big big big big concern werethe flies in the front of the restaurant, that raises questions over the hygiene in the kitchen. I would recommend the usage of iElectronic fly killers as well as fly screens, covered bins and better...
