Went in for lunch around 11:30, Friday the 9th of June. I ordered a takeaway order consisting a plain croissant and a brie and jam croissant for £5. The charge went through according to my banking app at 11:31. At 11:45, I asked the woman working the counter if my food would take much longer as I was on a limited lunch break and it had already been fifteen minutes and I needed to go soon. I was told the food would be out shortly. Around 11:50-11:55 I asked again, and was told it would be soon. I walked out of the restaurant at noon and went to Greggs across the road and had food in moments.
I am now out £5 and half an hour of my life for seemingly no reason. Had there been an issue, I could have been told and would have happily accepted a refund. Given their constant reassurances that food was nearly ready, I did not push for a refund. By the time I left, I no longer had time to push for one or make further inquiries. It is 10 minutes from my home to Flavours, and I have an hour allotted for lunchtime. Given that I still needed to buy lunch elsewhere, I opted to just leave.
I am not sure what went wrong, I saw other people receiving their food and drinks. They were not busy. There was one table outside taken with a couple, and two on the inside each with two more people. Overall there was seating for around 20-30 people. I understand it was lunchtime, and so I opted to go in when I saw that it was mainly empty and people were served, and I kept my order very simple.
Unfortunately I will not be returning. Lunchtime really needs a maximum service time of 15-20 minutes, especially for simple takeaway orders. In most situations, people asking for simple food as takeaway are on a lunch break and have limited time. If this is the state of their business, I am not overly surprised to see it so empty. I had high hopes with the outstanding reviews, so perhaps my issue is not a normal one. Regardless, if you are reading this, I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant if you are under any kind of...
Read moreThe burnt cheesecake is the best I've ever had. I would love to know how to make it and would sign up for a workshop in a heartbeat. The decor is bright and colourful and this place makes good coffee unlike the chain across the road. Its a nice business in the area. If i can share feedback I do think the staff at the till that take orders could be a little friendlier, whenever i visit there isnt any conversation or warmth, more transactional, they dont seem happy to make conversation. This type of aspect is very important in local businesses- being approachable to customers, make them feel welcome etc and would really impact repeat business. Only other criticism although its great quality the coffee is served in modern plastic style tumblers which would taste better in a glass...
Read moreI really believe this cafe saved me from post partum depression. I take my now toddler almost every day here and I find my (inner) peace 😅. The baristas are so friendly and they never hesitate to make my coffee the way I want. The food is really good and delicious . I watched many times behind the counter and the way they prepare the food is very clean & sanitary. Is so child friendly, even if the child is screaming and crying they would never make a face . 😅 Another plus The design is like being in Greece 👌🏻.
Ps. One day the order was delayed because so many people and orders from outside and I was so surprised when the manager gave half of the order money back to me and apologised...
