Arlo & Moe — Restaurant in London

There is no option for a full english type breakfast, which is fine. But, because of this, my mum ordered avocado feta toast with a few add ons (mushrooms, smoked salmon and chorizo).

When my mum asked for this order, the male waiter with black glasses gave an incredibly strange response. He acted visibly shocked for some reason, and gave really unnecessary comments…

He said things like ‘Wow… that’s a lot of ingredients’. He was insinuating that my mum was ordering a lot of food. How insanely insensitive. Then he proceeded to say ‘that’s a lot of money’. What a strange thing to say? So now you’re fatshaming my mum and insinuating that she looks like she’s unable to pay? Was it because of her Eastern European accent? Nevertheless, we received the food, and no one asked if we were okay. And that same waiter with the glasses smashed a glass next to our table and didn’t utter a single apology. Throughout our whole experience, he was also loudly swearing whilst chatting loudly to his colleagues.

How strange… I recently moved to the area and wanted to introduce myself and my mum to a new cafe. As you can tell, I will 100% not be returning and I will be telling all of my friends and family in the area...

Food is pretty good whenever I have the sandwiche. A little over price considering its just a sandwiche with no salad or something on the side. And the Guinness cake is so tasty!!! Staff- friendly but maybe need to ask if the food is okay? And someone to stay on the floor to engage with the guests to make the place more welcoming (even though the place is welcoming.

Came in other time would give low rating. Not organised when the girl who runs it isn't there. Was a disaster! Had to wait for awhile for my orange juice.. ordered the Guinness cake that arrived about 15mins later even though the lady said she'd bring it over after bringing the drink over.. she cut the cake but left it standing on the side! That then I got up to ask for it and then she bought it over. Had to wait for about 30 or so mins just for a orange juice and cake.. I gave the benefit of the doubt as it was busy but if it had been better organised would've been better flowing. (As you can see I gave it high stars before) but that's when it's the lady who runs it is working without her I'd say...

£7 for avocado on toast? £4 for a veggie sausage roll? So....a quick takeaway coffee & pastry for the journey will set you back nearly £7! At the back (wrong exit) end of Hither Green station?

I really really want to give them 5 stars and wished that they would be a roaring success because the area sorely needs some good businesses to grow. However, my jaw dropped at the outrageous prices. Much as I wish this was Hampstead, its not (yet? haha!). I will eat my beanie with joy if this business survives - but it will definitely not be through my regular patronage.

PS, I had a a takeaway black coffee (£2.50) and it was okay. I drink mine unadulterated, so average coffee beans can't hide behind froth or sugar.

The Guinness cake looked delicious. Decor looks great. If you don't care about splashing cash, it looks like a lovely...
