Wowzers. Placed our order online at 8:39 and told our food would arrive by 9:39pm. It’s now 10:50pm and still no food. Made my first call at 10:15 to ask where our food was, to be told we should have received it by now and “promised” it will be with us in “5 minutes maximum” as it was already out with the delivery driver. 15 minutes more pass, so we call again to see what’s happened, only to be told that the food was being cooked and nearly ready and would be with us in 10-15 minutes. Not only over an hour late but also not impressed being told it was out for delivery when in fact it hadn’t even been prepared. Poor. We’re still waiting, 2hrs and 11 minutes since ordering (well I am, my wife has fallen asleep on the sofa). Thanks Royal Tandoori. We’ve been told we can have a discount next time we order as we paid online so no chance of a discount or a refund on this order (!?), but the funny thing is I won’t be ordering again. How not to do customer service.
Update - food arrived just after 11pm - over 1hr and 20 minutes late (over 2 hours and 20 minutes after I ordered it). Food was ok but missing the chicken tikka starter thats supposed to be added to orders over £15 and it was missing the mint yoghurt dip we ordered. However, it’s not all doom and gloom - we did have an extra popadom slipped into our bag, which was a nice touch.

Read moreRude rude rude. If I could give zero stars I would. Food was recommended so we ordered our 1st ever take away with Royal Tandoori. 1.5 hrs later our food hadn't arrived. Several phone calls later to The Royal and we discovered the wrong post code was give to the driver. The driver had very limited English making it difficult to explain our address. Not a problem as drivers are often not good at English but when we phoned the Royal we were annoyed ( understandably)that we had waited almost 1.45 hrs and suggested a customer service token of a reduction in the price as we had waited so long and the youngsters were ready for bed. His reply was to tell the driver NOT to deliver and to return with the food. Arrogance and disgraceful customer service . I'll make sure we pass on our experience...
Read morePlaced an order for delivery. Once dishes were served I noticed the Kurma sauces were very watery but this did not effect the taste. The Tikka Masalla tasted as sweet as the Kurma, not spicy like it should be and how it is described on the menu ' Diced spring chicken marinaded for several hours in a home prepared sauce of selected herbs and spices '. I phoned to explain but the man I spoke to just fobbed me off saying that Massala is supposed to be sweet. There was no apology and no offer to replace / refund for the dish. I have ordered from The Rotal Tandori on many occasions and have purchased Massala before but it has never tasted like a Kurma. I am disappointed with this experience and am doubting ordering...
