This place is absolutely wonderful in terms of quality of the food. The prices are also very reasonable, and the atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. After the refurbishment, the restaurant has become bigger and better and has a number of very extremely friendly staff who are always welcoming every time we come to this restaurant. The portion sizes are very big and as I no longer live here locally. This is my go-to place when I want something tasty and reasonably priced and also enough for me to take home later. The one thing I would recommend is their Quarter Pounders. The eat in salad and bread that they serve for free is a very generous size and a very nice idea for a starter. I have tried a number of their dishes and I have never found fault with any of them. As I'm quite regular here. I have come to know and be familiar with a number of members of staff. They have good High Chair facilities for children, and when I came once with my friend and baby, the waiter very kindly gave me a plate of sliced cucumbers for my daughter as she was obsessed with them throughout the summer. Overall an excellent experience which I can never fault and therefore it deserves 5 Stars and no less.

The restaurant has a menu outside giving all the details of food items. Larger menus are given when you walk in together with drinks menu. Having ordered lamb shish I received a plate with 4 pieces of delicious pitta and some dips. Then came my salad part of the main course. The salad included shredded carrot, lettuce, beetroot, cucumber and an olive and a slice of lemon. A good size salad. The lamb shish, having ordered a small one had 5 pieces of lamb and two types of rice plus some onions and a green chilli. This on a bed of thin pitta. The food tasted nice. Prices are reasonable and detailed in my menu pictures. The cleanliness is maintained with tables disinfected between customers and floor swept. There were four staff on a Sunday lunchtime busy behind the cooking counter and about 4 waiters in nice Aysu uniforms. Service was friendly and helpful and prompt. Disappointing was the fact they don't take credit cards below £10. The restaurant was busy with families, group of men, young kids, couples. People happily eating. A sign by the payment counter says "please wait outside after you order " Another sign says "cash only" .

I ordered from this restaurant through JustEat yesterday and had a horrible experience. I got the mixed kofta, but as soon as I opened the food, I noticed a bad smell. I decided to give it a try anyway, but when I started eating the kofta, I was shocked to find a large chicken bone inside! It got stuck in my mouth, which was both painful and disgusting. The food was so bad that I couldn’t eat it and ended up throwing everything away. I called the restaurant immediately to ask for a refund, but the person I spoke with flat-out refused. I then contacted JustEat, but they haven’t responded to my request for a refund either. I’m very disappointed with both the restaurant and JustEat’s customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and order from somewhere else!

Aysu on Charlton Road is a real gem, and it definitely deserves more recognition! I visited recently, and everything from the food to the service was top-notch. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be tricky to find great options, but Aysu did not disappoint.

We started with the Feta Cheese Borek, and it was heavenly. The pastry was golden and crispy, while the feta inside was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced between salty and savory. A great way to kick off the meal!

For mains, we went with the Chip Wrap and the Halloumi Wrap, and both were incredible. The Chip Wrap was just pure comfort food—crispy chips wrapped in soft flatbread, seasoned just right. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves hearty flavors. The Halloumi Wrap was equally delicious—grilled halloumi with that perfect balance of crunchy and chewy, all wrapped up with fresh ingredients.

Even the chips on the side were fantastic—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It’s the little details like this that really made the meal stand out.

Aside from the food, the service was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with a laid-back vibe that made us feel comfortable and relaxed.

To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you’re getting. Aysu offers excellent value for money, especially considering the generous portions.

If you're vegetarian, Aysu has plenty of delicious options, so you’ll leave satisfied. Whether you’re local or just passing through Charlton Road, this is a spot worth checking out. I can’t...

Now Regular Customer! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👌 NEVER DISAPPOINTED! The owner definitely knows how to run a good restaurant & get returning customers. Once you've eaten here, you'll definitely return! My favourite Turkish Restaurant... The tasty, fresh food they serve here, is very hard to beat. I took my friend there on Friday & she was VERY IMPRESSED ( as I knew she would be!) We went for lunch & it was, as always, very enjoyable The food is the best - honestly - you NEED to go there & see for yourself - you WON'T be disappointed.. The decor is very nice & the staff are dressed impeccably & very professional & friendly. Everything is very clean so no surprise that they have a 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hygiene rating! My personal favourite is the chicken shish - I often get a takeaway or a food delivery...my friend had the mixed kebab & a feta cheese salad. The way they serve the food is so nice. So many tempting choices on the menu & when you see food going to the other tables, you can't help but look & say...mmh.. that looks yummy 😋... HIGHLY RECCOMENDED 👌 Lizzie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1st visit....... If you haven't tried this place yet......then DO! Lovely food & friendly staff. My favourite is the chicken shish . Food always freshly prepared & cooked well & big portions. Like me.....once you try, you'll go back again & again! Very clean & well run. Great...
