It's very ridiculous I was today 21/8/2022 at 6.30 pm around and reception girl quick take the order and friendly and asked to seated wait 10/15 minutes. Restaurant was full and one long table noticed a big family woman group and some other table and some family members coming. very nice decorations and staff are very busy. my take order was £50.20 pence. Within 15 minutes I got my order and I came far away north Finchley from where I went searching google and select 3 restaurant MASA and MAZAR of Harrow wealdstone and Balkh. Because BALK do Chapli Kebab so I went. When I opened it I could not believe it. Kabuli Pilou we regular order and A big Lamb Shank always. leave it Big it's not medium it's tiny like a Chicken leg more smaller and I took Picture. It's embarrassing. my children eating at least 15 years regularly but never saw such tiny lamb shank. Normally Some time butcher shop 5 tiny lamb shank sell £7/8 that lamb shank used. it's no value at at. taste it normal not awesome to review. Mantoo was ok. ChapliKebab not that tasty Chapli kebab. After all peoples buy for eating. it's embarrassing opening box and find fishy things. thank....
Read moreBalkh Restaurant has been a hidden gem in London since 2018, offering an unparalleled taste of Afghani cuisine. As a family-owned establishment, it excels in creating a warm and luxurious dining atmosphere, perfect for both casual meals and special events.
During our recent visit, we were fortunate to be served by Farid, who made our dining experience exceptional. His recommendations for vegetarian options were spot on. We indulged in a delightful spread of red kidney beans, garlic naan, and okra with tarkari rice. Each dish was a symphony of flavours, perfectly balanced and authentically prepared.
The mango lassi we had with our meal was refreshing and complemented the spiciness of the dishes beautifully. Farid’s service didn't stop there—he surprised us with Afghani tea infused with cardamom at the end of our meal, adding a special touch to our experience.
In addition to the fantastic food and service, Balkh Restaurant features a stunning function room, making it an ideal venue for events. Their homemade desserts, like Sheeryakh, are a must-try, rounding off an already impressive menu.
Overall, Balkh Restaurant offers a unique and memorable dining experience with its traditional and signature dishes, attentive service, and inviting ambience. We can't wait to return and explore more of their...
Read moreThe food was good but that's it. this place was a Massive red flag from the beginning.
Me and my wife booked in for the iftar buffet at this place and after an hour long drive we reached there on time. there was no one to greet or attend us, we stood there awkwardly for almost 5 minutes. I had to call a staff who was at the bar just to get us seated. the place was so crouded and yet so small space for those many people. the staffs struggled to find my name under the reservation chart because they wrote my name wrong. once after everything was sorted and we were given our tables we went for the food. that's when the next problem hits. the buffet counter is so small and there was almost 40 people queueing for the food. the place was poorly managed and so crouded during the time of iftar. once we got our food, after 40 minutes of waiting in the queue, when we went to the table or table was taken by another customer who got no remorse at all and was blocking the walk way. and The table was not so stable as well.
now comes to the food part. the kabuli pulao was nice. goes well with chicken sish and lamb curry. and The side option were also good. so there chapli kebab. the drinks were a big no. in the name of roohafza and sharbath there were red and green...
