A colleague and I decided to come down from north and central london on a friends recommendation. Lo and behold were we pleasantly impressed! Chef Ravi, chef Vinod, and our waiters Ritika and Carlton were genuinely warm, welcoming and friendly to interact with. Not to mention very attentive and forthcoming with information regarding the food and the menu, suggesting some of their personal favourites when asked. We started our meal off with some of the regular favourites; the papadum selection with chutneys made in house. Which were a smoked aubergine chutney, (unique and different, a twist to an bhaigun burtha) a mint and coconut chutney, (very classic southern Indian chutney but theirs had more mouth-feel which made it so good and my personal favourite of the selection) and the mango chutney. We then followed it up with the malai broccoli and sweet potato (which was gobbled so fast I couldn’t take a photo) and Bombay chilli chicken which took my breath away (literally! Haha..) and the angari chicken tikka which paired with the pickled onion and coriander and mint chutney made a great difference to the dish, so well balanced. We then had the paneer kadaifi, which was truly exceptional (the tanginess of the allam chutney and the pickled daikon were complementing the paneer in unexpected ways), then finished off our starters with the dahi puri! Which was a welcome change of pace, cool, light and refreshing ( the yogurt foam and the raspberry bits elevated it even further, and makes it uniquely theirs). The mains we had were the chicken lababdar (a more traditional chunky style of butter chicken, the addition of fresh ricotta instead of fresh cream, boom! Mind blown) and the Andra lamb masala (spicy but well balanced just the way we like it!) and the bhindi do pyaza (being one of my favourite Indian dishes to cook for friends and family. I must say this dish made me smile). We paired the Mains with a saffron rice and garlic naan which were both so well cooked (the rice) and so fresh! (The naans) I must say the portion sizes were perfectly catered for the amount we had ordered. Beating down a full belly my colleague and I decided to only try one dessert between us. We had the carrot halwa cake with kulfi. Which may I just say bought a tear to my eye bringing back fond memories of flavours from India and home. Not to forget how exceptionally well presented it was, with touches of modernist culinary skills, a raisin jelly, a milk foam and tuille that made the dessert look and taste truly fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone in the area, and, if you’re a lover of genuine good wholesome Indian food I must say, it’s worth the trip. Thank you again Ravi and Vinod for an amazing experience and the mouth watering food. I plan on visiting again with my partner (as she too is a fan of good Indian food) and can’t wait to be welcomed by you all for...
Read moreI was craving some rich authentic Indian flavours. Hence I decided to explore recently opened restaurant - Bindaas in Kingston. It checked all the boxes and was a stunning evening to reminisce upon.
We started with crisp assorted papadom and fresh chutneys as an appetiser. Then we tasted dahi puri - which were filled with yogurt, tamarind and mint sauce. In starters we tried Paneer Tikka - a special take with wrapped paneer( cottage cheese) in thin sevai and served with allam sauce. It was magical combination. Then we tried chicken tikka - the juiciest, soft and tender chicken I had so far with fresh mint sauce.
In mains we had Nellore Chepala Fish - it’s a must try as it’s from chef’s roots from India. It was a fresh sea bass with tamarind, raw mangoes and curry leaves. Already sounds a hit! We tried another spicy mains which was Mangalorean Chicken with costal flavours and fresh coconut taste. We clubbed them with steamed saffron rice and naans. I was extremely impressed by bread - bcoz they were so fresh, just out of oven.
To end - the dessert was served with pistachio kulfi, carrot cake, thin milk sheet and raisin based syrup. We were in complete awe of this dessert. It was an art to serve such deeply rooted Indian sweets with a modern take. Hats off to the best chef in the town.
Staff were warm, interiors are amazing. If you are in Kingston this place should be on...
Read moreOne of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve been to in Kingston. I ordered Chicken Tikka Biryani, Chicken Chettinad, plain naan, and tandoori roti. As a South Indian, I ordered the Chicken Chettinad expecting an authentic dish, but what I got tasted more like a bland version of butter chicken — completely off from what it should be. The naan and roti were so hard and dry they felt like papad — they broke into pieces when I tried to tear them, yet they charged £3 each. The portion of Chicken Biryani was extremely small for the £14.75 price tag. For comparison, street vendors serve tastier biryani with double the quantity for just £3.99.
To top it all off, they added a £3.62 service charge to the bill, which I only noticed after paying. I have no clue that what better service they provided to charge this from customers and they should take this off from the bill for ever.
Definitely, never visit this restaurant again.

Your staff didn’t make any effort to ask for feedback at any point. The only thing he said after serving the food was “cash or card” when I approached the till to pay. After the payment, he said “thank you,” to which I replied the same — that was the extent of our interaction. If you have CCTV footage, I encourage you to review it to...
