As an individual who frequently organizes events both in my personal and professional life, I feel compelled to express my candid opinion about Breeze, a restaurant I recently hosted a private dinner at, in London, UK. Regrettably, I can confirm that it stands out as the most disappointing dining experience I have encountered to date. If it were possible, I would give it a rating of 0 to accurately reflect my overall dissatisfaction.
Allow me to elaborate on the aspects that led to my unfavorable impression. Firstly, the service provided by the restaurant's staff was characterised by rudeness and a lack of accommodation. While I acknowledge that our party was running behind schedule, such circumstances should not justify an unwelcoming and cold demeanor from the staff, especially considering it was meant to be a celebratory occasion. This contrasts starkly with the friendly and amiable attitude displayed during our initial viewing and consultation, leaving me bewildered by the inconsistency.
Furthermore, the organisation and care for customer experience were sorely lacking. For instance, one of my guests had preordered lamb Beyti, but was served lamb Adana instead. Even when we brought this to the manager's attention, they attempted to deceive us by insisting that the dish was indeed Beyti, revealing an alarming lack of integrity. Sadly, this was just one of many instances where they seemed more interested in maximising profits at the expense of delivering a quality dining experience.
The food itself left much to be desired, eliciting disappointment from the majority of the approximately 40 guests in attendance. Cold dishes were served, and despite our request, the staff refused to reheat them. Additionally, there were instances of serving food that had gone bad, and certain dishes like the ribs were excessively fatty with minimal meat content. The lamb shank turned out to be soggy, and the chicken was overly salty, further compounding our dissatisfaction.
In reflecting on the restaurant's initial favorable impression during our initial meeting, it is unfortunate that I cannot offer any positive sentiments about our actual dining experience. My unequivocal recommendation is to avoid Breeze, especially if considering it as a venue for hosting private events. While they may claim to have no hire costs, be cautious, as they have shown a propensity to overcharge customers through various means.
I sincerely hope that others do not have to endure the embarrassment and disappointment that I experienced during what should have been one of the most joyous days of my life – my graduation celebration. Instead, I found myself returning home that night in tears, as this unfortunate experience tarnished what should have been a memorable milestone. After all the hard work and stress that accompanied my postgraduate qualification, I had hoped to share the achievement with loved ones in a celebratory atmosphere. However, Breeze failed to deliver on this expectation, leaving me profoundly...
Read moreVisited breeze on a saturday night for a birthday meal as a group of 12. Resturant wasn't too busy, we had our drinks order and food order taken fairly quickly. 2 very small bowls of bread put out for a large group. Drinks came and 10 mins later we were still waiting on 2 drinks, we enquired and staff did get them quickly after this even though he made it look like we was really putting him out. Starters came out minus one persons soup. Waited another 20 mins or so for this to be brought out. We then had another hiccup with drinks but being a large group we overlooked it up to this point. The resturant still was not full or really busy. We then waited 45 mins for our mains before eventually asking where our mains were. We had placed our orders at 7.30 our mains come out at 9.30pm. One of the table recieved theirs 20 mins after everyone else again. 3 people couldnt eat their lamb on the mixed grill, they said it tasted funny and was really fatty and grisly. The lamb tagine was so oily the spinach was swimming in fat. The final straw was when we got the bill which came up to £370 odd, we noticed that alongside the £34 service charge for fairly poor service they had charged us £4 for a jug of tap water. No hiding it either, it said tap water on the receipt. Most of the group were ordering cocktails which were not the cheapest and very small so the total bill was not mostly food. Cant have been a bad profit margin made on the group so £4 added for tap water is a bit of a joke to be honest. We just paid and won't be returning, wasnt worth quibbling as the waiter was really rude when we was asking for our missing starters and mains. Dissapointing first and last visit. I'd rather do the drive to...
Read moreWe turned up and they offered us a seat which was extremely close to the next table, so we opted to sit upstairs instead. We sat there and the waiter comes over and says can he take our order and can we ensure we order everything we want now rather than him having to come back and forth because he was busy. We thought it was a little abrupt but thought maybe it would help speed up our order so we did. I also ordered a side portion of rice with my seafood platter.
We received our starter and ate that.. my husband was given a very warm orange juice with 1 cube of ice. We then waited over an hour for a main course to arrive. It finally comes over and I look at the rice which was literally a table spoon of rice on top of two table spoons of cous cous (I never asked for cous cous) on top of that the bit of rice that was there was a big clump!!! ( I wish i took a picture- although i showed the waiter and he just shrugged). The seafood platter was so dry that it had no flavour! at the end we explained this to the waiter, but you could see he could not give a flying monkey and all he did was complain that he was working on his day off and he should not have been at that particular branch.
In addition, if you are seated upstairs they collect the food on foot by going down the stairs and then walking up the stairs with your food. One of the waiters did not have a mask (SO HE WAS HEAVY BREATHING OVER THE FOOD) and the other waiter had a mask on that only covered his mouth and not his nose.
Honestly, please please don't put yourself through it. You will...
