THE CORNER CAFE — Restaurant in London

On Saturday 3/7/21 at about 14.00 I visited The Corner Cafe in Highams Park and ordered scrambled egg, bacon, chips, beans and tea - a fundamental British caff meal. As you can see from the photo the scrambled egg resembled a sponge mixed with a dishcloth. The chips were frozen but were not fully cooked (pale, hard inside) and the bacon was really overcooked and dry. I sent the eggs back and the server/cook brought the next attempt back exactly the same way - so she clearly had no idea how to COOK basic foods. I had paid about £6 for this awful meal and had to walk out and leave most of it. For future reference, scrambled egg needs to be thoroughly mixed with butter and milk and ideally cooked on a hob, although there is a way of getting good results in the microwave by stirring and putting back in the microwave. Or you can use the steam from the nozzle on the coffee machine. I would not recommend this place for a cup...

I recently visited Corner Cafe and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and made to feel right at home.
