Brew & Barrel — Restaurant in London

We booked a table to ensure we got a spot, but were seated on one of the hottest days of the year at a metal table with no shade at all. We asked repeatedly to be moved somewhere with shade, and despite tables becoming available throughout, we kept being told they were needed. It stung that at the end of the time we spent there, a table with shade behind us had been empty the whole time.

The service definitely lacked - one of our party did say they'd like the shakshuka with chorizo, but the server clearly didn't note this down properly cause it didn't come with chorizo. Everytime that food and drinks arrived, it was served by someone new, which generally led to a feeling of chaos.

When we went to pay, they couldn't find our tab and kept us standing and waiting in a hot restaurant, because they weren't offering payment at the table.

It's a shame, because the food was delicious, but we all agreed that we wouldn't go back. I'd recommend that the restaurant invest in more umbrellas for their outdoor seating, because we definitely weren't the only...

Together with @chefjasonhoward they've curated a delicious brunch menu with flavours to impress everyone's taste buds! 😋

Elevated dishes, with punching flavours throughout. The Chorizo was a standout for me, nice thick slices and enough on the plate to ensure you devour every mouthful 😍

We also really enjoyed the mediterranean twists, light & fresh! 🍅

Brew & Barrel offers a range of coffees & teas but also some powerful cocktails 🍸 You have to try the espresso martini, one of those eye rolls with excitement moments! 😍

An amazing team here, really welcoming and warm energy, outdoor and indoor seating, they also sometimes have live music! 😀 🎶

Food was 10/10, I ordered the French toast and thought it was the nicest I’ve had. I ordered an iced matcha latte which tasted pretty awful, it had no latte in it and tasted of pure matcha which wasn’t nice. I asked if it was okay to swap the drink for just a regular iced latte, to which the server wasn’t the kindest about. And I think they got the order wrong again as I couldn’t taste any caramel syrup despite mixing it a lot. My friends tried both drinks and thought the same too, but I didn’t want to ask the server again as she seemed really unapproachable and just made me nervous so I asked the table next to us for their sugar to sweeten it. They were still going to charge for the matcha too until I asked for them to take it off the bill. The table was also dirty with crumbs and ketchup when we sat down so I had to ask for some paper towels (as there weren’t any napkins on the table for me to do it myself). I recommend for the food but I wouldn’t recommend it overall as there are other cafes with nicer staff that have better...
