I stopped at this cafe while going to an appointment near by. As soon as i entered i noted that all tables inside were busy and the food people were eating looked great. Approaching the bar there were handmade cakes that looks delicious and again handmade just out of the oven bakery. I was amazed by the “homemade look” and “size”, so i asked the girl at the bar and she told me that yes they do produce each day their own bread and bakery (and more). I order a hot chocolate (which was delicious) with a handmade sweet pastry and i set at the outside table. On the menu also a wide selections of fresh homemade lunch options including soups. I noted people were stopping often to go inside and get something to take home. The place was busy, the quality of drinks and food excellent and “really” homemade from scratch. The girl that served me was very friendly and helpful and the whole place felt warm welcome and cosy. There were also a lot of herbal tea selections (to try next time). First time here but yes, i will come again as i really enjoyed the experience and the people working there were always smiling and willing to help. Dear Cafe66 … i will see you again soon and try more of your...
Read moreThe mission says 'every guest who chooses Cafe 66 leaves happy'. Sadly not today. After walking through the door the woman behind the counter did not think to even say hello or make any kind of eye contact. The cafe was not busy and even it it was, it takes one second. She then left us perusing the menu while busying herself, eventually disappearing into the kitchen. We waited for her to return to place an order but there was no sign of her and eventually we walked out. Both of us are in hospitality and are regularly surprised by what is deemed acceptable, and sympathise with owners as to how difficult it can be to find the right staff. However, having checked the website, it appears that the lady concerned was probably one of the owners!! It goes without saying that we will not be returning and eventually found a lovely alternative down the road in Putney. We normally go to the cafe at number 40 where they are charming and the atmosphere much better but sadly it was closed today. We know where we are...
Read moreI have visited this cafe a few times since it opened last year, but never had time to sit down and eat properly. I tried out the pasta, with Brockley, seed and turkey, very delicious.
Followed by Earl Grey tea and carrot and ginger cake. Cafe 66 is a family run polish cafe, getting a reputation for its home made cakes, as well as a wide selection of main meals freshly prepared.
It's a lovely bright cafe with a view of the historic barnes healing church. It's a wonderful new addition to the community, one that is most welcomed.
It's important that we find places to stop, reflect and relax than always going or returning from somewhere. There is nothing like finding a gem to enjoy the delights of Polish cooking.
I have found staff to be welcoming and attentive, who have always greeted me with a smile. So if you are passing take time out. They always post the days fresh food on Instagram and twitter. I leave fealing content, full...
