I have left my original review below un-edited but want to add that within 48hrs I was contacted by senior management and a offered a sincere apology in addition to a options for remedy which were appreciated. I would also add that my review was influenced by a large number of fantastic places in the vicinity which are truly outstanding. They might get one more try.

Sooo disappointing. I live 3minutes walk away and nothing would make me happier than this be a nice place to eat, but it isn't. The food varies from passable to poor, the service is like Karen's Diner without the swearing; that is no one cares about you at all. Expect to have to wave your hands in the air to order food or a drink, don't expect anyone to ask how your meal is or pay attention to the details. I tried again today for the 4th time (after telling myself three times not to), there is a reason that of the many options nearby this was the only one with plenty of free tables to book, though when you arrive don't expect to be treated like someone who has booked, "yeah have one of those tables over there I will come and clean it for you". Aware of my privilege, won't let this lot...

The Crossing was very much style over substance. That said there was very little style and not much substance.

Being a pub near the railway I was keen to check it out. Upon stepping inside there was a single ale on the go and a bit of a cold hello from the spectacled chap behind the bar. We ordered some chips as a snack just before kitchen closing which was 2100. Another couple came in shortly after and were refused food. It just so happens the kitchen closing time on the website is 2130 so they left understandably fuming. Amusing lot they sell the Seville beer Cruzcampo from a city where people don’t head out until 2100 at least, so a bit of irony there.

The ale was pretty average and paired with a soft drink was nearly £10. You get much better kept ales in Spoons! The chips we had were average and served without a smile.

You felt a bit like a burden here and that you were an inconvenience to the staff. Not quite how you’d think hospitality works but we’re are in the UK after all.

For the price v service and quality I wouldn’t return. They need to try harder here...

First time visiting and popped in for a swift pint. Upon entering I completely missed the wall of beer taps and thought they only had 1 draught lager but the bar man kindly pointed out the obvious wall of taps !... I opted for a pint of Amstel which was a tad expensive compared to other pubs but it's common when the pub is pristine and in a nice area.

The pub as mentioned was pristine, clean and had a nice quiet atmosphere for a Monday afternoon. I suspect this is popular with locals and gets busy in evenings and weekends.

Outside was an awesome walled garden with pizza oven and from looking at the menu and other reviews I will eat here one day !

I had a look around and upstairs has a function room with private bar which I assume can be hired for any occasion.

Got a few pics please take a look and pop in if you're thirsty!

4* for slightly higher than avg £ for a pint of Amstel imo and my dog wasn't offered a water bowl but when locals came in one was taken to them personally (not sure if it was asked for, but nice touch would of been...

We organised our wedding at the Crossing and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!! The pub was set up in a lovely way with tables inside on both floors for dining and the garden for drinks and nibbles, including pizza in the oven. The organisation was so smooth, Sean managed everything, from drinks to setting up the tables, Riccardo designed the menu and followed the food side of things. Food and drinks were amazing, all the guests gave such great feedback. The service was amazing; everyone was so attentive and nice! They allowed us to have some music until later in the evening and were so flexible to make us happy and have the wedding we always wished for. They are the best!! Highly recommended for weddings and any private party!! :)

I recently visited The Crossing and had an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only friendly but also incredibly attentive throughout my visit. A special mention goes to the General Manager, Seb. His genuine friendliness and dedication to making every guest feel at home truly stand out. One of the highlights of my evening was the lovely jazz night. The live music added an elegant and soothing ambiance, making it the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable evening. The wine selection was also impressive, with a variety of excellent choices that complemented the mood perfectly.
