Best Afghan/Pakistani food you will find in the UK full stop. Yes it takes time for the food to be prepared as some people are 'complaining' about in the reviews.. those people should really read up about the traditional style of restaurants found in Peshawar for example where people traditionally sit for long periods of time drinking tea waiting more than an hour for their food - it's part of the culture so appreciate it instead of complaining.. if you want fast food go and eat some dog food you'll find just a few shops down the street. (If you order on the phone with notice you won't have to wait when you get there.)
The food is prepared from scratch, no microwaving or half cooked pre prepared food.. and it is made with true expertise and love. Very rare to find an Asian restaurant putting this kind of effort in, in this country. This place is a hidden gem. They aren't there to just make a quick buck and go home, the main chef is truly passionate about what he does and cares that you eat well. I'll continue to go to this place whenever I am anywhere nearby, it became a monthly tradition with my friends, and i'll soon restart that...
Read moreCame here with 10 people/a couple of families, The room we were given was not clean, food particles was on the carpet which we had to ask to be hovered and food area wiped down.
The room itself had nails sticking off the walls and could do with a update. The smaller booths looked better and the largest room was more modern. The layout of the place and seating is unique and has character. Definitely dated and not to everyone's taste.
Service was very slow, as they said it was being made fresh. So a pre order is advised. The food was good with quality ingredients used. I would eat again.
This is more a group of guys place who are into their meat, lounging and not so concerned about the atmosphere.
The other disappointment was they asked for cash saying their card machine was not working. Ended up doing a transfer.
I would order the chops, chapli kebabs and kabuli rice again as a takeaway. Honest food, for the price though would expect a better dine in experience. Wouldn't take the family or go again unless it was a small...
Read moreI think the quality of food and service is so low in London that people desperately overrate everything... Having Afghan heritage and tasted the real thing all i can say is the following: Karahi was good. Rice was not. Kebabs were just ok. Mango Lassi was good. Chappli Kebab was ok. Naan was a lot smaller than expected. Green tea was disappointing. And the decoration, ambience and quality of furniture was tired and embarrassing. Plus they said they only accept cash...we spent £60 for 2 friends and it's the same cost as for many other good restaurants...like i said to my friend afterwards I wouldn't bring my family here and he agreed....more like a guys Dhaba ....maybe they should have shisha and maybe it was much better a few years ago now its all a bit tired...wanted it to be so much better as...
