Flavours of Norbury — Restaurant in London

This review is my personal experience from one order of Oxtail stew. I cannot speak for other dishes or other experiences from this shop please note. So I ordered Medium sized Oxtail with rice and peas. They gave me 5 small lumps of 'meat' (which was 90% bone and fat which seemed equal to 1tbsp meat) and the rest of the container was just rice. The Oxtail stew had no butter beans in it as it traditionally does and the 'meat' was dry and tough even though it had gravy on it. It tasted nothing more than OK. Slightly more spicy than flavoursome. The rice was OK but it was quite salty. I have definitely tasted better and received better quality Oxtail stew with a better meat-rice ratio as well so I don't think I would buy Oxtail from this shop again and I would not want to buy from them again as I have heard others that I know complain about the meat-rice ratio also. There are other shops more worth the money. Plus the English lady that served me was way too talkative as if she did not want me to leave the shop... When this takeaway first opened it was great. The food was tasty, the portions were a decent size. Over the last year (and not just my opinion) it has really deteriorated. Various members of our family and friends used to be regular customers. We occasionally still buy from there hoping that there may be some improvement, but no. The portions are smaller and the prices have increased but what we hate the most is the customer service. Just recently I visited this takeaway and the lady who I think is the owner couldn't even say hello, she just looked at me and turned away. Another lady actually served me , her customer service skills were better. The owner then came to the counter with no friendliness in her voice and asked "What did you have"--"that will be ££". Not even a thank you when I paid!! I really felt like walking out.. Please remember, we are your customers. Sometimes we feel as though we are disturbing you when we come in. I always try to support our local businesses but when we get get treated like this it does put you off. Thank you An unhappy...

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! The staff were extremely rude, no customer service whatsoever. As well as this they lack the knowledge to serve customers in order they come through the door, the lack of enthusiasm whilst being served is more like they are being forced to serve us rather than trying to be polite and keep customers! honestly myself and my friends were left very disgusted and disappointed with this service as we spent almost £80 between us and thought we would at least get some appreciation and thanks - but Instead we ended up in an argument and almost a fight with the White/foreign lady working for them. The food - for me I was not impressed with that either - the dumpling was hard, the festival was more like a stick of rock, the oxtail, stew chicken and mutton was NOT the flavour you would expect whatsoever, it also smelt off and the rice was fairly hard still!
