Chi Oriental — Restaurant in London

If you are a very very very very very very very patient person, then the Chi Oriental restaurant is for you! We arrived on time for our reservation and noticed there was only one waiter and a waitress who seemed to be terribly overun with 7/8 delivery drivers wearing helmets waiting for their delivery orders. Then, a group of four people who came in about 20 minutes after we arrived were served their orders before us. We daren't say anything to the staff in case they taught us a lesson (if you know what I mean). It was about another 30 minutes later before we were served with our starters! Then we waited a further 30 minutes for our main course. What was also annoying was the fact that they do not answer the phone, they just let it ring and it then rings out. The food is not bad, although, for me, it tasted like it needed a little more salt (very fresh). I cancelled a reservation down the road at Thai Crystal, to try this restaurant, wish...

I called and made a delivery order and spoke to a woman called joanna. I made my order and upon asking for the total sum i noticed she charged extra, when i questioned why, i was told its £2 delivery charge for addresse's more than 2 miles away. So i google the miles to which i only lived 1.4 miles away. When i confronted joanna about the milage and made a point that she shouldn't charge me £2 delivery because i live within their 2 mile radius. She replied "well then u can come a collect." Excuse me! The sheer disrespect! I will forever boycot this restaurant. Joanna is extremely rude not to mention the attempt to extort an extra £2 out of me. P.s. if ur orders for delivery just double check how far u are from the restaurant. As im sure this isnt the first time...

Very disappointed, second time walk in and asked before sitting if they do a specific dish from the menu "salmon tartare", and both time I've been told yes and when I'm already sitted and drinking my wine been told they don't have any tartare . I mean I walk in and ask and they say yes, and as soon as I place my order they coming and tell me they don't have, that is very disappointed . Tried already the rest of food and seemed quite good, just disappointed as I had to drink my wine and leave. If u going for Chinese food, go for it but not for salmon tartare as most of the time they won't have . Kind staff but u can't make a customer sit and tell them u have something on the menu and then u tell me u don't ... Last time ! Won't go back...
