Went in on a busy Sunday and met two friends who had already gotten a drink. They said it was a busy queue inside and I had just met them so wanted to have a chat so decided to order a drink on the app. It took over 45 mins before my bottle of cider got to the table with no glass or ice, so I asked the waitress can I have a glass to which she replied were very busy. I was actually a bit taken aback by this as I had waited a crazy amount of time anyway and those fat bottles of cider are not meant to be drank from the bottle. My friend and I both said but we’ve waited 45 mins you yourself wouldn’t drink this drink like this. She eventually agreed to get a glass but she can’t give me ice for some reason. The waitress passed a few times with other peoples drink (can’t understand why she couldn’t have just put an empty glass on the tray aswell since she was passing me). Exactly one hour and 5 mins after my online order I got my glass with ice shockingly but It was slammed on the table by the waitress which I thought was very childish considering my request really wasn’t something out of this world . I suggest if you cannot handle the online orders and it gets too busy at a certain time just turn it off or take the QR codes off the table the staff clearly can’t cope with that level of busyness, over 1 hour wait for a bottle of cider and a glass...
Read moreAs a customer who appreciates quality local places, I was very excited when I saw CTP was going to open soon in the area. Although drinks are very dear (expect to pay over £6 for a pint), they have a good selection of beers. Good quality pizza too and a great atmosphere. Just what the area needed.
A few things to take into account - Whilst on my first visit to CPT I spotted a few locals who used to drink at the previous pub. They came in and felt a little out of their comfort zone. The new place is great for the younger generation but maybe they should have something to cater for the elderly too?
On my second visit, the place was crowded which is great. I ordered pint of pale ale that I really wanted to try. At first the lady serving me replied with " a pint of WHAT?" . I get it, the place was full and loud but that's not the way to approach a customer. She then came back and told me that the beer I'd asked for was off BUT could not tell me what they had on that was similar and seemed a little anxious to get rid of me as soon as possible. After waiting over 20mins to get served, I decided to leave as my experience was not getting any better. With prices so high, the least to expect is a standard level of good customer service. Will give CTP another go at some point, but won't be...
Read moreWe’ve been here several times and it’s great for families, throughout the seasons. When we went last, just after midday, it was filling up fast for outdoor seating. A lot of tables were reserved but the staff were happy for us to sit at one which was reserved from 3pm as long as we had left by 2.45/2.50 so they had enough time to clear and reset the table.
Food is good and usually delivered promptly. They do some good pizzas here - my boys had a margarita with olives, and we also got the pepperoni one, the tuna one (this also came with anchovies and was a bit too salty for my liking so will probably go for the goat’s cheese next time) and the meatball pasta for my 1 year old as he’s allergic to dairy. I didn’t actually see a kids menu (didn’t ask for one) but our kids shared one pizza and also tucked into the meatball pasta so everyone had enough food.
While there’s not a huge space for energise kids to run about it, it helps that there’s good outdoor seating and they often show football matches which makes my boys (other half included) happy. There’s also a lot of high chairs which is great.
If you’re planning to be out for most of the day at Clissold park with kids, this is a great place to go for lunch or an...
