September 2023 Came across this little cafe on Instagram. Was delighted to discover a cafe with West End charm, but local - win, win. Visited for birthday brunch and was pleasantly suprised with food that tasted just as delicious as it looked - fresh ingredients and service was top-tier. Lovely atmostphere, busy (unsurprising) but relaxed, and cafe was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Already planning next visit.
November 2023 Second visit to this delightful little cafe - another homerun. Tried something new, I ordered the “Crispy” Avocado on Sourdough; presented beautifully and the side salad was dressed to perfection; pacts a punch in flavour, fresh and not soggy in the slightest - absolutely delicious!
This cafe uses fresh ingredients - I cannot stress enough how much this impacts your experience; it’s not the usual “deep fried from frozen” food you’d expect to find in local breakfast cafes, you can tell how much the chef loves and has passion for their work by the quality and presentation of their food Insert Chef’s Kiss
Servers are always smiley, attentive, friendly, and professional; helpful and a delight to interact with. We’ll be back...
Read moreI'm a disabled pensioner who struggles with mobility. Staying in Sidcup I took my stroller and visited the high street. I noticed this venue and having already walked too far, decided to rest here and have a cold beer.
I asked the waitress (before entering the venue), if it was alright to just have a beer, she assured me that it was. Not having any draught beer they offered me a bottled lager...which I accepted.
They selected me a table, cleaned it thoroughly and I sat down.
And in that minute another waitress came up and told me that they couldn't serve beer... without food!!!
So, I'd struggled for nothing and only managed 2 minutes of sitting down. I was definitely not impressed with the way their staff didn't know the rules about beer consumption and food.
Probably fine for those wanting food?
UPDATE: Having just received an apology and explanation from the company, I have added 1*. As an ex-publican, I understand the licencing laws are not always simple.
UPDATE II. Perhaps the owners could consider putting up a sign, stating their alcohol policy? I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been caught...
Read moreWhat a delightful discovery. I visited Sidcup taking my son for his second jab and when he was done we popped round the corner for a bite to eat. We wondered passed a couple of cafes and noticed there seemed to be a bit of a bustle in this beautifully decorated establishment, so figured we'd see what it was all about. Pushed into the door and was immediately met by a vibe that lifted our spirits. Very welcoming and friendly staff soon guided us to an available table and presented us with menus. The menus were sturdy and well laid out. The variety was impressive. I wish a took a picture. Even though I was up for a fried breakfast there was something about the menu that made me feel like I was eating well. There was an enjoyable chatter going on in the place the whole time, it was clear the patrons were regulars and if I lived near this place I'm sure I would become one too. I can't praise this...
