Visited Common Pizza at Clapham Common, drawn in by their current 50% off promotion. The atmosphere was lively and seems especially ideal for summer months—definitely a great location for casual meet-ups and enjoying happy hour drinks.
We sampled a variety of pizzas: the Orange, Green, and White Detroit styles. The Pepperoni NYC-style pizza was my top pick, scoring about 7/10; it was tasty enough, but nothing extraordinary to rave about. Unfortunately, the Green pizza didn’t impress—it tasted more like garlic bread, lacking a distinctive tomato flavour and coming across somewhat bland.
On the service front, things weren’t seamless. Food deliveries frequently ended up at the wrong tables, causing confusion. The setup with just one pay counter meant payments were slow, creating unnecessary wait times. Additionally, there is only one shared toilet available, which isn’t ideal given the size of the crowd. Booking restrictions requiring a minimum group of nine further complicated plans.
One odd quirk: although you can order directly to your table via phone, for some inexplicable reason, the drinks area only permitted pizza orders at the bar. Given the substantial queue of roughly 50+ people waiting to get in, I’d strongly recommend they rethink this approach, at least until they’re back at full price, to ensure smoother turnover and less waiting time.
The venue started getting particularly busy around 6pm, which added to the lively atmosphere but also highlighted the operational shortcomings.
Overall, Common Pizza offers decent food, but its true selling point is its vibrant location and relaxed vibe. Better pizza places are available nearby, but if you’re looking for an easygoing spot to enjoy with friends—especially while the discount lasts—it’s worth...
Read moreCame here tonight for a birthday gathering. Over 15 of us, our table we reserved was ready when we arrived. The food was delicious, it was my first time here and I was throughly impressed and I would happily visit here again.
A shoutout to all the staff who served us tonight. They were brilliant from start to finish, very friendly with bright smiles, they kept up with clearing our tables as we were finishing drinks and food. No one waited long at all for anything, the staff here really were fantastic, the venue is clearly popular, all the tables were full and it had a long queue outside, yet the staff always looked in control of the situation all whilst having friendly interactions with the customers. One lovely female staff member even went above and beyond to find a missing personal item I had lost throughout the night, I truly appreciate that.
I’m not from London, so when I visit I expect to pay a premium on everything, however, I found the value for money here to be outstanding. The prices were only slightly more expensive than somewhere similar I visit regularly back in my home city so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed, especially given the quality of the food and services from the staff.
A must visit for pizza lovers. I hope the staff enjoyed looking at the bikes and talking to us about them throughout the night. We will certainly...
Read moreArrived yesterday (friday 20th) evening and it was closed for a private event which I didn’t see anywhere. This wasn’t a massive issue as they were offering take away pizza which we were happy to do. We asked for the menu and also some tap water in our dogs bowl we had with us as we’d just walked in the heat to the restaurant with our dog and thought we would be sitting in and able to order some so politely asked as we now weren’t could we please have a quick refill and we’d also be ordering pizzas. The woman collecting orders at the door with long dark hair point blank said no, we explained we weren’t asking to go inside the restaurant we merely wanted some tap water for the dog and we were also ordering food so were technically customers. We asked again and she explained the bar was ‘ too busy’ yet we could see jugs of tap water sat out and it would take no more than 30 seconds to help us out. After hearing this conversation I assume what was a nice security man stepped in and apologised for her behaviour and swiftly passed up some water. This bizarre and rude interaction put us off ordering food as clearly the customer service was lacking and the bar was already overwhelmed with an order of tap water so we did not...
