I recently visited Costa Coffee at 129-131 N End, Croydon CR0 1TL, and was absolutely delighted with the exceptional service provided by Poline. When I arrived and ordered an Americano, she checked my app and kindly informed me that I could receive a discount if I wanted to order something to accompany my coffee. Following her suggestion, I ordered an excellent pie that she recommended. While enjoying my coffee and reading, I've notice how Poline interacted with other customers. Her customer service skills are truly outstanding. She treats everyone with the utmost respect and courtesy, always with a friendly expression on her face. She's consistently ready to help in any way possible, making relevant suggestions tailored to each customer's preferences. Whenever anyone requests something, she responds immediately. I was particularly impressed by her attentiveness to the environment - promptly cleaning the floor whenever something was spilled. In one notable instance, when she saw an elderly gentleman with a walker trying to navigate between tables, she immediately moved a chair to create more space for him. Though there are other good employees at your establishment, Poline's exceptional service stands out so prominently that the others are somewhat overshadowed. Costa, you are not listening to your customers, so you have lost another star from the not many you had on my previous review below. I visited with my partner today and your AIR CONDITIONING WAS SO HIGH, we did not even make it to ordering!!! We left, and we then understood why the chairs outside were packed but you were all empty inside.

It is a Costa like any other Costa, the coffee is intermittently good, depending on who's making it. I only drink espresso, so there's little room to hide bad coffee or coffee-making. Staff is generally friendly and the big window makes for a good people-watching spot - the highstreet has a lot to offer! On the negative side, WHAT'S WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON MAX ALL YEAR ROUND??!! We - your paying customers - are all seating with coats and scarfs on, as the four AC machines blow Arctic air to every corner of the establishment. Today, I asked if it could be turned a little warmer. I was asked where I was seated, but nothing was done. So I had to manually push up the machine flaps to stand a chance to drink this coffee - which is now...

A guy in front of me was asked to move farther down because she said.. you booking the queue, can you move. Gentleman had a bad leg and he was balancing on the counter with his hands. Me and my friend were next. When we were served my friend asked me , where I can get my Costa card. Because I'm old Costa customer, I have my customers loyalty card. So I kindly asked the same girl how can we get card for my friend. She therefore answered...go to your appand download, we don't do cards for 2 years and she laughed..
Message to her- Dear worker, if you don't like to work in Costa, please find another job, or of you have no other options, please be kind to people, at the end of the day, you get paid because I come in to buy my coffee. The customers buy your bread on your table. Don't need to be rude.
