The worst gaming store in England if not Europe!
Front line staff have the worst attitudes and are unfriendly, hostile, uninterested, unhelpful and lack knowledge!
Manager is completely incompetent and inept.
Staff spend a stupid amount of time posting rubbish on social media as opposed to cleaning up their filthy and cluttered shop.
Their gaming stock is dirty / never cleaned, has worn out stickers, cracked cases, cracks in the centre of the discs, scratches on the discs.
The huge bulk of their rare games are fake reproductions in addition to the continual counterfeit / photo copied covers they provide.
Please do not waste your time visiting this store!
An absolute disgrace to the community and to the culture of gaming!
UPDATE: Now these incompetent people at Playnation Games are confusing me with some other strange customer they have encountered. This is a sign of what type of people shop here and a sign of incompetent staff who make stupid accusations based on a whim, literally based on nothing and get matters completely wrong.
If this was a professional company they would have looked for a solution in a customer friendly way, not start attacking people via Google Reviews. Whoever wrote your response below is a failure. You need a new PR person. Please avoid this store as their responses tell you all you need to know, really bad and unprofessional Manager / Owner.
FURTHER UPDATE: This company has OVER THIRTY POOR 1 STAR REVIEWS - IT SAYS ITS ALL REALLY! Especially when it has been confirmed within those reviews that Playnation Games are 'Rude and Greedy' and sell 'damaged and scratched games'.
Here are some of the highlights from the BAD reviews about PLAYNATION GAMES;
Purchased a game, got home and found the instructions were ripped and glued together with tape.
Waited 1 hour for a Manager who "just went for a break", waited for 1 hour (!), then was told they cannot refund me due to online policies, couldn't tell me where to find those policies, and eventually me refunded me as store credit.
Rude and Greedy
This shop is totally useless
A number of Gameboy/Gameboy Advance Games are Bootlegs (Fake cartridges).
Stay well clear of this shop.
They have a Clenaflex Arcade Machine which is a Big Con when the prize falls it falls on to a bar making the prize almost impossible to win on its a £1 a play.
DO NOT SUPPORT THEM THEY ARE CONNING ROBBING OWNERS.
The owner seems to take things personally when receiving feedback on what I can only describe as his tetchy, at best ambivalent manner and contempt for any customers who are returning faulty products.
To the extent that I have no desire to ever visit this outlet again.
You're far better off sticking to the likes of Computer Exchange and certain other independent gaming retailers with their no quibble, personable approach.
Arcade upstairs on two occasions were inoperable.
Steer clear and take your hard earned money elsewhere.
never recommending this shop to anyone EVER there should be a no star option.
these guys still owe me £50 I paid as deposit for my kid's birthday party last year, and never got back,
Absolutely atrocious, the phone was NEVER answered. (Having tried calling them for FOUR days)
Rubbish variety of games, we did not have a good time. Half of the games werenāt working when we went. Quite sad,
Poor service & no real policy for faulty goods - bad attitude.
The place is bad and the people are irrelevant and inexperienced.
The game I was sold was incredibly scratched.
staff were not very knowledgeable.
LOL at Playnation Games - so stupid they are mixing me up with some other...
Read moreSomeone told me about this place saying that it has the old sckool games..well i thought i gotta check it out. And i was not dissapointed at all...i was almost salivating at seeing Street Fighter Daytona and Time Crisis. I haven't played these for at least 10-15 years. Couldnt afford this stuff when i was a kid. The first time (about 2 weeks ago) I went upstairs to the gaming part of the building i was admittedly a bit put off as there were several teenagers playing a big screened game and others who seemed to know there stuff..i felt a bit conscious for me to come along and play a game only to loose almost immediately! ..but i had a good stroll around and was impressed with what was on offer. I knew i would be back. Went there a few days ago when it was quiet...which i liked ideally and had the best hour on above games...woooweee. i came out of there adrenlin pumping. I payed £5 for an hour's play. You can also pay £10 for all day which is extremely good value. Its a done deal. They have complimented the place with really cool posters (takes me back to my Manga days). I think you maybe able to buy snacks as i saw folks eating fries on my first visit (afterall one must have fuel to kill off the badies) . The staff were really friendly. This should surely be a hit with not just teenagers but anyone into these types of games. I dont think anyone including myself are bothered about the basic furniture (as i heard a parent comment on) as we are there to have a great time.I have recently learned that i could buy the Sega Megadrive online for £60 which got me excited. Then i remembered that the downstairs part of the building sells anything old school ie playstation megadrive Nintendo and the games and more . I m gonna buy it from there as 1. i can see it in the flesh and asks questions and 2. i would like to support this establishment (this is one high street place to support rather than use the internet) I m excited I m gonna have this next week but i think i have changed my mind to getting playstation 2 ...One of the reviewers said there are rubbish games at this place. Obviously they dont understand that this place is doing something that you dont often see - offering old school/retro games for those who appreciate them (like myself). Long may Playnation Games...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlmost an excellent shop, but the poor customer service drags it down. I shopped here from 2013 to 2021, and most of it when buying hardware usually resulted in having to return due to the bought content being defective or of inadequate quality. The shop itself can be very deceitful if you're not especially careful. One time, I bought a NES game held in a black sleeve common in NES packaging, and it turned out to be a North American copy. The only info telling this was small and hidden by the black sleeve. The manager told me to be careful, which essentially boils down to them asking me to do their job. Speaking of whom, the manager will behave differently depending on the context. Returning due to a faulty or poorly labeled item will have him suddenly act condescending and grasp straws, contriving any reason why this isn't his or the staff's fault. You won't get any cash back, unless the product is exclusively defective. Otherwise, the customer has to buy something else, because the customer service doesn't consider any other consumer inconvenience due to sheer laziness and incompetence on the staff's part.
If that isn't enough, here's something else. One time, they showed a game controller in poor condition going for £15. I suggested they sell it for cheaper since the less faulty unit I bought was the same price. I returned the next day, and they changed the price from £15 to £20. To conclude, I don't recommend this shop unless you have a thing for inconvenient shopping, defective products, or abrasive manager behaviour. It's a cool shop that won't reach its potential due to greed and unprofessional...
