Tasteless overcooked slop. Congealed.
We’ve been to countless Italians across london & had high hopes for this one as it has good reviews & looks new inside- it turned out to be the worst Italian meal we’ve ever had anywhere. We gave it a chance & ordered more dishes. All pretty bad. Only one was edible (but not enjoyable). One dish had to go back as ingredients tasted a week old & off.
Nice staff, nice decor, terrible food. Pretentious & sadly failing. This was our honest experience. Very modern decor, fairly new inside. Staff are nice if a little overzealous & fussy.
So embarrassing- we’ve never had to return food before. How can you go wrong with pasta dishes - it’s almost all carbs & fat so should always taste amazing even if cooked fairly badly!!
Disappointing. As we left the restaurant, we almost felt taken advantage of- it was that bad- the restaurant & staff comes across as pretentious with no substantiation- no soul or even basic taste - dishes unimaginative & clearly over cooked slop - clearly those who leave high ratings aren’t foodies. Perhaps the dishes we had were one off bad ones or the main chef was at home? We don’t know. This tasted like basic value spaghetti over-boiled for hours & then used a gone off tin of “value pasta sauce” to mix in with the now mushy pasta - actually that would have admittedly probably been nicer actually 🤣 each mouthful of this was a struggle- I have no idea what they did to it or who made it…
It was so bad that we should have been paid to sit through it! We paid the extortionate bill & left.
There was pretty much nothing with meat on the menu but we were told “the menu changes all the time” - that didn’t help us.
Wish I could attach a taste to a review- it was abhorrent.
We shall be sticking to old fashioned Italian restaurants we know from now on. We haven’t tried next door yet- another Italian. Greatly regret not going there instead of this place. Won’t be back. This is our personal opinion & true to that. See pic of...
Read moreI was really looking forward to visiting what appeared to be an authentic gem, but unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing.
We had booked a table for two, but upon arrival, it seemed that no table had been properly allocated to us. We were offered two high-table options, and after being seated, it took some time—about 5 to 10 minutes—to get the waiter’s attention and receive menus. It would have been nice to be welcomed and handed menus upon arrival, but the staff appeared quite busy with other tables.
We ordered the focaccia, pappardelle with ox cheek, and the vegan bucatini with garlic pesto and oyster mushrooms. The focaccia was quite oily and hard—possibly reheated. The mushrooms were unfortunately too salty, which made the dish less enjoyable.
When the mains arrived, they were incorrect. Although I mentioned I was happy to keep the ox cheek dish, another waiter decided to take everything back and said it would only be a few minutes. Unfortunately, the wait was much longer. When the ox cheek dish was returned, the pasta looked dry and possibly reheated. While the first few bites were okay, the sauce later had an off taste. My dining companion described it as rancid, and I suspect it may have been reheated. Sadly, I ended up with stomach cramps and an upset stomach the next day.
Overall, I found the experience underwhelming for the price point. The environment was quite loud, and service could benefit from more attentive table management to avoid delays in basic steps like seating and menu distribution. I genuinely hope this feedback helps improve the experience for...
Read moreA really nice new restaurant in Chiswick specialising in Pasta. Great decor and atmosphere, it's been really nicely decorated.
They have 8 pasta options on the menu including one vegan and one vegetarian option.
Sadly they forgot to bring out our starters and when I asked the waiter why people who had come in after we had ordered had received theirs, he went to check and our main courses arrived a moment later. They did offer us the starters but by that point we didn't want them and wanted to enjoy the fresh pasta in front of us.
For a place specialising in fresh pasta I wasn't overly impressed. My partner's and mine were both ok but not anything to write home about and not worth the £18 price tag per dish. I was expecting something really tasty but I could have got something just as good at any average Italian.
They did offer us free desserts to make up for the starter mix hap which was really nice of them. We both went for the same option which was strawberries with marcepone, balsamic vinegar and crumble. Again it was perfectly nice and I wasn't expecting much but it felt like it was lacking something to spice it up.
Overall I don't hold the starter issue against them, these things happen and they couldn't apologise enough but for the pastas and desert they need some improvement to make them really stand out. They also had both the desserts on the bill so I had to ask the waiter who came back with a new one with 1 dessert still on it. I didn't want to argue at this point so I paid and left. Would I go again? Probably not. Would I recommend...
