A recommendation from a lunch friend.

Situated in a prime part of the terrace this is a place I've walked past many times without really noticing it. That's a shame (and they should consider being a little more ostentatious to the street) because this place is a real gem.

The interior is immaculate, beautifully lit, welcoming and comfortable. We were promptly seated and our drinks order taken.

Menu was fairly straightforward if you know the cuisine, but I confess to googling a few plates. I'm not big on pictures in menus (it's a bit American diner or Chinese takeout like), but a few hints in the wording would help. But I'm just being picky, the staff were wonderful and helpful, not a problem.

I selected 3 appetizer plates of falafel, halloumi and these great little lamb turnover things I couldn't pronounce and now can't remember the name of (but they were amazing). In fact it was all amazing. Really, really reeeaally good falafel!

Food was soon all gone, all really tasty, and dessert loomed. Being a chocolate nut I went for the lava cake. Shame they were out of a few of the interesting desserts including a rose flavor one, but the chocolate cake and ice cream was really good.

To add a little excitement to a late lunch a fight broke out across the street between what seemed to be cyclists and a van crew (whoever is doing the road design in Chiswick these days needs a brain transplant), but we can all certainly appreciate free dining entertainment.

Alex took great care of us, and was charming and informative.

I struggled over 4 or 5 stars for this review. It's more than 4 stars because it was such a good experience and meal, but it's not the absolute bestest best restaurant I've ever eaten in. In the end I went for 5 because despite the fact it's not a glitzy uptown concept superstar-chef experience, I just really really enjoyed my meal.

Excellent. Highly...

If I was asked to describe my experience at Grilandia the first word to mind would be outstanding. I can say with my entire heart that the staff and food made my wedding day. From the moment we enquired my husband and I was treated like family, catered for above and beyond. On the day itself I can honestly say I felt like I stepped into a family home bubbling with joy and warmth. All of our guest felt welcomed and catered to, everyone is still speaking about the food and spectacular lemonade. A friend said Grilandia was in her bucket list and she was so glad it did not disappoint. The vibe and decor is unmatched, I don’t think there was one thing I would have changed. We are so truly grateful for all the staff and how special you made us feel. Our son is desperate to return for the chicken skewers he loved the flavourful marinade. Our daughter also thoroughly enjoyed the lamb she typically refuses to eat lamb, but loved it. The mezze was a stand out, such variety and large portions, I typically find falafel dry but this was the furthest thing from. We look forward to returning asap and hope to spend our future anniversary’s with you all. Thanks again for truly making our wedding day one to remember. Best Omar...

Visited grilandia on for the first time on Friday and had a great time. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing, we went around 4PM and it wasn't very busy but as we were leaving around 7PM it started to fill up. The food was amazing, I had the mixed grill and also ordered a portion of chips on the side. I'm always a bit cautious about ordering lamb as sometimes it can be tough or overcooked. The lamb was one of the best I've ever had, perfectly seasoned with tons of flavour and very tender. The chicken was also perfectly seasoned with a lot of flavour. The rice was very fresh and fragrant, the chips are unreal. Proper hand cut skin on fries with very crispy skin and perfectly fluffy inside. We also had some warm breads with the hummus and baba ghanoj which was lovely. We also had some cocktails which were very good and it was happy hour so even better!

I should also add that they offer many vegetarian and vegan options, so they have something for everyone.

I would highly recommend anyone in the area to visit grilandia, you will have a great time with some amazing food and also the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great service and a great...

Warm and welcoming, with soft lighting and insta-baiting plant walls. Staff are friendly, although not super attentive given I was not asked how my meal was either during or after I’d eaten. The food was decent, I ordered a chicken shish taouk which was nicely spiced and tender, a fairly low bar for a Middle East inspired restaurant but still it was satisfying. What wasn’t was the small pile of chopped cabbage that passed as a salad. I would have expected at least some hummus with a selection of pickled sliced vegetables, as is standard at the half dozen other restaurants nearby with similar menus. The bread also was dense, thick and chewy and tasted like a supermarket naan minus the garlic and coriander. Not the deliciously light, puffy clouds it should have been. Given the location I can only assume the hight ratings are because the crowd hasn’t been to any of the actual middle Easter-inspired restaurants nearby, notably Shams 5 minutes walk away, where you’ll find better value and more authentic food. Bill £25 with 1 beer.

Last Friday, we went to Grilandia for dinner. Unfortunately, due to a traffic jam, we arrived a bit late. Upon our arrival, the staff who were arranging tables for customers told off us for being late and informed us that we only had until 8 pm, which was unexpected and rude. However, we didn’t let this attitude dampen our mood as we were just looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner. We ordered various mezes and cocktails. The food was good, although they forgot to add cheese on top of our moussaka. Despite this, we didn’t ask for it as we assumed the kitchen was very busy. Personally, I found my Espresso Martini cocktail to be too watery, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. However, all of our mezes were delicious, and we were pleasantly surprised by the low prices. We wanted to order dessert, but before we could, a waitress brought us the bill and told us we had to leave now. Shocked by this rudeness, we left feeling disappointed. It’s a shame they don’t know how to treat their customers politely.
