Country Club Trent Park — Restaurant in London

There's a lot I can say about this place, but, if you want the short version... Don't go here. You are paying for a good time, and there's a very good chance you won't get it here.

For the long version:

As someone that has run party venues for years, this was the most amateur set up I have seen.

The venue is nice, and the food, by Heddon, was good too. This place would be amazing in the right hands.

However, the security people are unchecked by management and make business decisions?!? Crazy! I can imagine a scenario where these guys could cause a serious incident one night. It rang alarm bells for me and was the first thing i noticed, that these people have no idea what they are doing.

The wait staff are poorly trained, getting the orders wrong, spilling them on people, it was a laughable shambles.

I personally went to the bar to buy some drinks, as the wait staff was no where, and was told that I couldn't have what I wanted, despite them having what I wanted... is this a business???

If i ever caught one of my staff refusing to take money off people, or saying 'no' to something that they CAN do, they'd be fired on the spot. We sell drink and we are selling a good time! We are not selling disappointment, frustration or God complexes.

As for the entertainment... the dj was good, but the powered speakers used were too small for the size of the venue, not that they weren't loud, they were plenty loud, but the music is terribly distorted for that audio level. Not what I expected and sometimes the distortion was a bit much for the ears.

I wouldnt go there again if invited and would never host anything here. They want top venue money but offer working mens pub quality.

After booking I was called and asked to bring it forward an hour to accommodate for a private function. I was told that 15 mins before the function people would be setting up around us. I didn’t have an issue with this.

Unfortunately an hour before the function people started setting up and we lost the attention of the waitress because she got involved helping. It completely ruined the atmosphere. I spoke to someone about it only to be told the other party were told they could set up an hour early.

At that point we left our food, decided to skip dessert and coffees and moved to the bar to finish our drinks. The manager, seeing this made no efforts to come and speak to us - she spoke to the other party instead and helped them set up.

The food was poor. I had the asparagus for a starter and it was uncooked. 3 of us ordered the baked ham roast dinner. On one plate the meat was over cooked and inedible. The cauliflower cheese which was served separately was not cooked. Normally I would have raised this at the time but due to the issues already detailed I didn’t want to stay there any longer.

The venue is lovely but not worth it for the poor quality food and a manager who had more interest in the bigger party. They shouldn’t have...

Attended a family event on Sunday 11th Nov and was really quite appalled by the service provided! Meals sizes varied dramatically on our table. The general service was poor with food being delivered at different times and food being cold. Food took a long time to arrive then there was a rush to clear everything! I left the table to visit the ladies only to return to find that my desert (which I had only taken a bite out of) had been taken away along with my half full drink! I wasnt the only one on the table to have their drink taken away before they'd finished! There was a real sense unprofessionalism and inexperience in the staff!

Perhaps the worst thing of all was when the bar staff advised that the drinks tab had been used and that we now had to pay for our drinks. We don't have a problem paying for our drinks but I know how our family events are and I know how embarrassing it must have been for our hosts to have to arrange for an announcement to be made to their guests apologising to any guests that were made to pay for their drinks and offering them a refund as a tab on the bar would remain for the entire evening! Shocking! Truly truly shocking! I was mortified that our host that were put in such an embarrassing...
