You'd think it's too good to be true, but take this from someone who is extremely picky about coffee, and who will travel across London for the perfect cappuccino: this little coffee shop in the heart of Berrylands has it's very own incredibly talented barista who makes the most delicious coffee! This coffee shop is a true gem. It gets even more incredible, for the head barista of El Cafetal ROASTS THE SHOP'S specially imported Colombian beans (note: single source!) in their own very unique way, and the result is unbelievable! Using their beans ("Colibri" is my favourite [orange, nutty, dark chocolate, dried fruit - simply gorgeous] but Santa Maria and Cumbia are totally fab too), I can make the most amazing cappuccino at home with just a simple mokka pot and a milk frother! You can pick up beans in store (which I do - plus I have them perfectly ground so they're ultra fresh!) or you can buy online via their own website. But obviously, if in doubt, it's always worth a visit - Carlos and Diana are such warm and caring people, and they've created such a cool Colombian vibe in the coffee shop, plus it's inspiring to see the passion they put into each brew. Chairs outside in the afternoon sun too! Can't believe we're so lucky here in Berrylands to have El...

This is a review of the online shop rather than the physical shop, so please take it as such:

I ordered some coffee beans and, after a couple of days, used the WhatsApp contact on the website to ask for a delivery status because I realised I'd made an error myself in my e-mail address when ordering. To be clear, I wasn't raising a complaint and it was still within what I'd consider a reasonable delivery time, I was just asking because I'd made a mistake myself with my details.

Later that afternoon a guy from the shop actually came around in person and dropped off a bag of beans, saying they'd been having some issues with the post recently but if I did receive another bag in the next few days to just consider it on the house. He even had a brief friendly chat about my brewing method and the best beans for particular methods with me when he dropped off my order.

Amazing customer service. I neither demanded nor could have expected that level of personalised care, so can't recommend these people highly enough.

(Oh and the actual coffee is...

A proper coffee house which has very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They can tell you where the coffee is sourced (all of it is Colombian), the story behind the location & the processes undertaken. They actually roast all of their beans in house which gives it a very fresh and flavourful taste. The staff will help you identify what beans that would suit your coffee choice best, I.e americano, flat white etc.

Really recommend visiting the cafe to sit in or take coffee for your commute from Berrylands. They also offer various pastries and snacks etc to complement your choice.

I feel like that this is an independent cafe not to be missed, with expertise and flavours which will not be found at a local chain...

My first visit today. Good experience in the store - we had a flat white and a hot chocolate which were good. Very helpful member of staff too. Unfortunately I bought 250g of coffee beans, which weren’t cheap, only to get home and find that it was only 220g of coffee. Likely they forgot to zero out the scale for the weight of the bag. I think this was an honest mistake. I’ve called and left a message - hopefully they can resolve it. Update 2 weeks later: No response from the business at all. Rating adjusted.

2.70 for a fantastic cup of flat white. What a little gem hidden at Berrylands. Definitely better then your chain coffee shops, beans selection was also good along with a friendly barista/owner and professional equipments. Each cup of coffee comes with beautiful latte arts also! Would recommend!
