Curry Mahal Tandoori — Restaurant in London

I’m absolutely baffled at how this place has got really good reviews. We got an order from here and if I could give it less stars I would. My favourite food is Indian cuisine and we decided to try somewhere different to our usual takeaway. Ordered for collection as soon as they opened. Never again! The food was oiley, bland and was all cold. Had to be reheated in the microwave. The samosas were essentially greasy mince, no spice or flavour and peas wrapped in burnt pastry. The onion bhaji was dry and really doughy (again no flavour), the Madras curry tasted like green chilli and coriander and not a lot else. Swimming in oil! The chicken was tender and the rice was ok. But to say I am disappointed is a understatement. I even said to my husband “it’s very rare to get a bad Indian.” How wrong was I? Both me and my husband already have stomach pains. The food is usually pretty fresh and good (when the guy on the phone don't get it wrong and make excuses about bad lines) and the delivery driver is the most amazing guy, always seems happy and surprised of any tips in the many times he's come here. However, the guy answering the phone is literally an idiot, half of the time you ask for home delivery and get 20-30 mins wait time an hour later you call up and he can't hear you it's a bad line, call up again why haven't you picked it up, remind him it was home delivery and bad line again. This is a cosy small resturant, the 1st to.open in the area over 30yrs ago, the decor is oldie worldly and comfortable. Their food is freshly made, hot and reallly tasty, the staff are attentive but leave you alone to enjoy your company and meal. You pay half the price stated on the menu and they also gave us hot towels a complementary drink when we had finished eating. There's wheelchair access and they make sure the chair user is with their company and are comfortable. I recomend you give this Indian Resturant a try, I'm certain you don't be dissapointed.
