Cyprianis — Restaurant in London

Disapointing Service, overpriced and let down by the food.

Recently been to Cyprianis and my partner and I both left incredibly disappointed and in my case physically ill.

The interior is nice enough... That's sadly all I can say as a positive. Maybe if I had ordered anything else I wouldn't have had quite as bad an experience but it is what it is.

My Partner and I both ordered the mushroom and black truffle risotto as mains. Both of which where absolutely swimming in oil and although I could smell the truffle, I could not detect the slightest taste of it at all.

We didn't notice how much oil was in our dishes untill a good portion of the food had been eaten, after which I felt incredibly sick and had to visit the restroom several times (I almost threw up, but I'm not keen on wasting food, although I would have felt much better for it if I did).

When the server came by to ask if we where do e and if we wanted Desert I replied "sadly no, as I felt sick," to which the server didn't even respond to that and said I'll get the bill then.

Wow! We where not looking for anything like a refund, but just acknowledgement of the food standard, maybe even mention passing it on to the chef, but nope nothing at all. The place was not even that busy and it seemed very difficult to get anyone's attention during our time there, so I don't understand the reason for the bad service. In fact the staff looked very indifferent like they where just going through the motions.

It's shame as I've had some very good experiences with restaurants recently, so it paines me to say that due to the bad experience and the food making myself sick we will not be...

Booked a table as been here before and it was very nice, however I went here a few days ago and the service was horrendous, as we sat down we were told what time we had leave! Waited for a while before we got a menu then eventually got to order, starter was ok, the main dish we had to ask on at least 4 occasions for more dips as the portion supplied was beyond mean, a desert spoon at best! Had to ask twice for ketchup, again took ages to arrive! Once we finished our main we sat with dirty plates for a while before they were taken away. 20 mins later we had still not been offered a desert menu or asked if we wanted more drinks, we then had to ask twice for the bill! Service was the worst I have had in years, as we left we explained that we were made to feel unwelcome for our entire time - I was then spoken to by who I assume was a manager who said they would call to see what they could do, guess what!! Got a mixed bag feeling about this place. Firstly the restaurant had nice dim lighting and we was welcomed with a nice smile from all the waiters. FOOD was very very tasty full of flavours and well presented I was impressed BUT the portions was very small and on the more expensive side. I had Veal & Spaghetti and two very small pieces of veal at £25 was not worthy. My partner had lamb chops again 3 very small chops which would have fed a young child our desert was the same really tasty but not a lot there we was still hungry when we left. The service was very attentive and all the waiters was to a very high standard. The music was shocking playing loud 1980s chart music which didn’t really go with the ambiance of the place plus no table clothes which didn’t help.
