Went to the Daylight for an afternoon drink and to have some lunch with family and friends to celebrate their daughters 11th birthday. After spending a few hours in there (spending quite a bit of money mind) the landlady suddenly appeared in a very aggressive manor telling us to clear up the mess our two 4 year old had made.
We was sat in the family area and the kids had cornered off a tiny area with two chairs like a den, to play shops with the condiments taken from the family area. There was only one other family in this area who seemed absolutely fine with the kids playing and were not disturbed by them in anyway.
The land lady appeared with such aggression i have never been treated with such disrespect and made to feel like a terrible parent. We were shocked but initially responded and said ofcourse we will clear up.
My husband was taken aback by the way the woman had approached us about this so went round the corner away from the kids to talk to her. As he did so she ignored him and said she's not having it and marched back round to us where we was with the kids. Again raising her voice and being completely disrespectful, insulting us and making our kids cry!! I don't care who you are but to act like this infront of children especially after seeing them cry is outrageous. It was so aggressive that a family next to us were disgusted by her behaviour and also left. Fair enough if you don't want your chairs or condiments moved but there are ways of saying things and you can communicate this in a friendly way. Our kids were so distraught and took a while to calm them down after. I think they deserve an apology from Elaine. Disgusting behaviour. Avoid the Daylight Inn at all costs.
All over a few ketchup and vinegar bottles...Elaine whoever had upset you earlier in the day please do not take it out on my family and...
Read moreI am writing to follow up on my wife’s recent visit to your pub on Sunday afternoon with two of her friends. She had left a review to highlight her disappointing experience, hoping it would be taken as constructive feedback to improve your customer care service for future patrons. Unfortunately, your response to her review made it seem as though she was not telling the truth, which was very upsetting and unfair.
To clarify what happened: my wife ordered the mixed grill and, when asked, requested her steak to be cooked well done. The meal arrived, and while she enjoyed most of it, the steak was unfortunately inedible as one side was completely burnt and bitter.
She placed the steak on a side plate and later took it to the counter to show a staff member, who was dismissive and unhelpful. He told her that the steak was cooked “well done as requested,” not understanding the very clear difference between well done and burnt. He showed no empathy, offered no apology or replacement, and simply stated, “we don’t do refunds”. For the record, my wife never asked for a refund, she simply wanted an edible steak that matched her order.
Sadly, this spoiled the overall dining experience for her and her friends. To make matters worse, when she raised her concern again with another member of staff on the way out, the same lack of courtesy was shown, no apology, no acknowledgment.
We have visited your pub many times in the past and enjoyed good meals and service, but this occasion fell far short of your normal standards, My wife’s point was not to cause upset, but to highlight that your staff need better training in handling customer complaints, and your chef needs to be reminded of the difference between well done and burnt.
We hope you will take this feedback seriously, address the issues raised, and prevent this from happening to...
Read moreI ordered the passion fruit cocktail to be told there was none left.
It was quite quiet and we were advised there was up to a 45 minute wait for food.
I ordered the veggie kebab panini melt to be told half an hour after ordering there were no panini’s left so they would use a wrap instead.
Around an hour after waiting for 2 wraps I was served a wrap with just lettuce, cheese and tomato. I asked why there was no kebab (the main ingredient) to be told there was none left. I said to the waiter if I was told this when ordering I would not have ordered it so asked if I could have a complimentary side dish. I asked for the macaroni cheese to be told there was none left...
So there was no passion fruit cocktail, no panini’s, no veggie kebab (which was in a lot of choices from the menu and I was not told this until after my food was served) and no macaroni cheese.
Also whilst being seated I noticed 3 staff standing around chatting behind the bar whilst a gentleman was waiting to be served for a couple of minutes and had to wave his arms to get their attention.
Really disappointing.
The above was posted a month ago and I received an email advising I would receive a voucher, I am yet to...
