We went here for a birthday dinner for my mum. We had one of the most fantastic restaurant experiences I can remember. The staff were all amazing in every way; they were polite, respectful, entertaining and considerate with everything they did. We were in great hands for the evening.
Then the food arrived, every single dish we ordered, from starters to desserts were wonderfully and perfectly prepared and presented. I expected the food to be good, but I was not expecting it to be that good. If you are fussy with your Italian food and have an Italian food place or memory that you use as your reference for the quality of Italian food everywhere, then I think Da Alfredo may make you revaluate that reference of yours.
The ambience in this restaurant is also superb, it is a warmly lit Italian restaurant of just the right size, not too big as some places are that when you leave, they make you feel like you just walked out of a club from all the other guests dining and chatting noise, and not too small where you can feel the staff stare at you with every bite of your food waiting to pounce and give you attention. Shortly after, we visited Da Alfredo where we were warmly greeted by the manager and ushered to our seats. The simple test of an italian restaurant is the quality of their tomato sauce, so my first dish in a new Italian restaurant must contain an abundance of tomato. On this occasion, I chose Penne all'Arrabbiata, pasta in a hot chilli tomato sauce. I was not disappointed. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and more importantly the sauce was superb. Since then I have been back several times and between us my wife and I have chosen to try a different dish each time. And they are all excellent! Moreover Da Alfredo has an unusual, reasonably priced Wine list which contains one or two wines not normally found here in the UK. I like white wine, and I can recommend the Gavi. I feel blessed to have found such a brilliant Italian restaurant right on my doorstep so can only score Da Alfredo a well deserved 10/10. Qui si...
