Look at the photo to judge the “authentic” nature of this meal. While edible there was nothing redeeming about the food. Chicken tikka apart from being sweet as flavourless. I didn’t dare try the bright fake green mint or mango chutneys. Palau rice also dotted with food colouring rather than flavour. Chicken biryani had no spice and no flavour, did not eat. vegetable curry was boiled potatoes corn and peas. Naan average. Poppadum’s ok. Bland all around, clearly made made for mass appeal (very extensive menu) but be warned wait times also 80mins++ for takeout delivery. I’m adding an extra star to my review because I want to give credit for the large portions, leftovers proved prolific and more flavourful the next day and enough to feed a crowd.

Convenient location but lacks any sort of atmosphere. No music. No lights. Much like a cafe, just an Indian cafe. Food was of good portion size. Not oily. However chicken tikka in the dhansak wasn’t very well marinated and therefore not much depth of flavour. Rice was acceptable but not very flavourful. Mixed kebab didn’t come with mint sauce and the kofta was a little salty. A little above average U.K. price but pretty normal for a London borough. 1x mixed kebab starter 1x CT dhansak 1x special rice 1x banana lassi 1x pint Diet Coke =£28 I wouldn’t return as there are plenty of others to try in the immediate area. ⭐️ ⭐️

Albany Spice has super staff ! The whole dining experience was really good. The options were bountiful and the prices were very reasonable for the serving sizes. The food was not greasy like other places which have lots of take out. The food is more to European tastes, meaning that if you want more spices or hotter food( spicy) - I would make let the staff know when you order the food. Overall, a good place to eat in this area .

We had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience dining at Albany Spice.

We went here as a group of five. We reserved a table on a week day only because of the odd number of people.

The restaurant was well attended, but not super busy.

The staff welcomed us and that set the tone for the evening. The waiters who served us were warm, friendly and easy going. Very good standard.

We had poppadoms, bhaji and samosas for starters.

Followed by a variety of vegetarian mains, sides plus naans.

All the food was really excellent. Well cooked, lovely flavours and the expected amount of spice (ours ranged from korma to madras).

For drinks we had mango lassis and water.

The cost was a very reasonable £67 without the well deserved tip we left.

At the end we were given trays to take home some unfinished dishes, along with a carrier bag.

The decor of the restaurant is nicely neutral, without the usual traditional pictures, statues and piped music that often detracts from my experience. Very refreshing.

Albany Spice also do a take away service, and did brisk business throughout our visit. There's a comfortable sofa to use while waiting.

There is a customer toilet available, and it is fully disabled accessible as is the entrance and restaurant.

Definitely one of the best curry restaurants around...

Great food, good atmosphere and top notch service.

The food was delicious, but while Indian restaurants commonly drench their food in oil and spices, the food here was very delicately balanced to extract the maximum flavor without overdoing the oil, garlic, spices etc. This makes the food taste exactly like a home cooked meal, delivering that authentic Indian food experience. The samosas were better than 90% of places I've been to. We ordered the lamb saag, mutter paneer and garlic naans, all of which were fantastic. Portion sizes were adequate without being too much.

The atmosphere is nice: i like that the restaurant stayed away from the cheesy "sitar in the background" type music you always find at an Indian restaurant. Instead you feel much more intimate with your table, surrounded by a light hum of conversation from other tables.

The service was great as well. The waiters/servers were attentive and polite, the manager came over for a quick chat to see whether we were enjoying our dinner (and our trip to London), and there were even complimentary chocolate mints at the end!

Wonderful place overall, and definitely somewhere I'd love to visit next time...

I'm the most fussiest person. I googled this place and said it was nearby and it was getting late. Well the service was instant and loved the fact you could bring your own drink. Literally grabbed a bottle next door. The starter was so good and my son loves a certain dish which is hard to come by and he was impressed. The main was so good I couldn't believe it. I could not fault it, I was in awe. I would move just to have this food near me. From start to finish it was fab. To top it off my phone died so couldn't get an uber and the lovely Muhammad gave us a lift free of charge from the restaurant. The most loveliest meal I've had in many years and I'm so glad I was able to experience this. Best food and most nicest guys you could meet....
