I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Farm Fresh Burgers, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. To be quite frank, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
First and foremost, the staff at Farm Fresh Burgers were shockingly rude. Now, let's talk about the prices. I couldn't believe how expensive this place was. I ordered 2 Farm Fresh Burgers, 2 Chicken Fillet Burgers, Hand Cut Chips with Rosemary, and Traditional French Fries with Peri Peri seasoning. I expected the price to be reflective of the quality, but I was sorely mistaken. The cost was exorbitant for what essentially amounted to fast food with subpar service.
To add insult to injury, they didn't even provide the basics. No ketchup, no tissues, and not even a grain of salt on the table. I had to repeatedly ask the uninterested staff for these essentials, which only added to my frustration. It's baffling how such simple requests couldn't be met promptly.
Now, the most egregious part of my experience was their insistence on a service charge. They claimed it was mandatory, but I knew better. It's not compulsory, and they lied about it. After a heated argument, they reluctantly removed it, but the staff's displeasure was palpable. I don't appreciate being deceived and coerced into paying more than I should.
Let's not forget about the food itself. The portions were laughably small, and the taste was equally unimpressive. The Farm Fresh Burgers lacked any discernible flavor, and the Chicken Fillet Burgers were equally bland. I expected a burst of taste, but I got nothing but disappointment.
As if my experience couldn't get any worse, when I asked about a student discount, they seemed to take personal offense. It's not as if I was asking for a favor; it's a legitimate discount that they should have been willing to apply without hesitation.
In summary, Farm Fresh Burgers left a sour taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. The rudeness of the staff, the exorbitant prices, the lack of basic amenities, the false service charge claim, the mediocre food, and the refusal to honor a student discount all contributed to an utterly regrettable dining experience. Save your money and go somewhere else where you'll get better food and service for your...
Read moreIf you want bland, tasteless, overpriced burgers that are about as flavoursome as water, this is the place to visit.
This review is based upon several visits. Why? Because each time I go, I can't believe the burger is so tasteless and end up trying a different one, convinced that it wasn't so bad the last time.
The food itself is fresh and beautifully cooked (the burgers are steamed once grilled so they're nice and juicy) but all meat based patties have literally zero seasoning. It's like eating grilled boiled meat with nothing else. Sure, you can add sauces and lettuce, pickles, onions, etc. but the mark of a good burger is one that tastes great on its own. And this isn't it.
The chicken burgers are marginally better, but the pick of the lot suprisingly, is the tasty halloumi burger. All well and good if you're looking for a veggie option but I'm guessing most people wanting a burger are looking for the meat. Special mention to the hand cut chips (the rosemary ones are really good) and onion rings which are are fresh and crispy.
Service is great and the staff are friendly. The place is very small however so the chances are that wherever you sit, there'll be foot traffic and you'll be able to reach out and touch your neighbour. Not a great atmosphere and not a family friendly environment by any means, especially if you have kids.
Let's talk about prices; it's far too expensive for what you get. Including drinks, £20 per head is not unrealistic which is nuts for a burger meal that scores poorly for taste.
The portions are small and when you're eating bland tasteless meat with not even a sprinkling of spices, the value proposition is just not there, even with the various meal deals. It's the type of place you always leave feeling that the food was only just about OK and not really worth the hefty bill. Chances are you'll still be hungry too because of the measly portions.
It's a shame because the food is well made, but if you really want a good flavourome beef burger, there's far better available in Kingston for a third of the price. And...
Read moreThis is the most horrific experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Firstly the restaurant stank of a damp smell, so we moved over to another side of the restaurant. This should’ve been the warning to go eat somewhere else but as we were fasting we thought we’d stay and give it a go. Then before we received our food we realised there were 100s of flies/mosquitoes everywhere, by this time it was too late to leave. The worst is yet to come, when the waiter was bringing over our food, he knocked over a glass of water which spilled all on my lap, there was no initial apology from the waiter. I had to eat my food whilst sitting on a wet puddle with my shoes and trouser all wet. When we went to pay, I asked for a discount on my food as I had the most uncomfortable dining experience I’ve ever had. He finally apologised for spilling water all over me, and then he refused to give any discount. After a bit of negotiations he agreed to discount the price by £2, even though this discount is nothing compared to what he done I accepted as it was better than nothing. When he we went to pay we realised there actually was no discount and the waiter had in fact lied and charged us the full amount. I’m not one to over exaggerate but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant, I will defo never be recommending this place to anyone and never be visiting again. I wish I can give zero star rating but...
