So me, my mrs & her brother went out for a meal at fiesta Mexicana. I genuinely don’t get how they are rated so highly. The food is genuinely so bland. The price point is ridiculously high for what it is. £6.95 for 5 button mushrooms as a starter is genuinely disgusting to charge. The salsa nachos is marked as vegetarian, when served they served the one with chilli beef sauce. They just took it off the plate which tbh put us all off from eating it without even an apology for it. Also how on earth is hummus part of Mexican food. The budget Tesco brand nacho chips that’s served with it was just horrid. The strawberry margarita genuinely had no alcohol. When we asked for the bill there was no breakdown so I don’t even know what they charged us for as the bill came to £48 and I just wanted to get out of there so just paid for it. We asked for pico de gallo which after a lot of back and fourth was finally agreed they do serve it but it was almost as if they have never heard it needs lime juice and onions and not cucumbers. I don’t get how so much can go wrong in one sitting. This is the reason why I don’t eat out in orpington for Mexican food as every aspect was wrong. It’s nicely decorated and to a somewhat aspect the generic Spotify playlist of “Mexican dinner music” playing in the background. Please don’t be sidetracked by the venue and ambience as the food and service is genuinely a huge thumbs down. Who ever owns this restaurant please go to a proper Mexican restaurant or even better Mexico and please respect the culture and food that you...
Read moreOut in Orpington and our friend recommended eating here, she was a regular and used to come here about once a month for years. The staff recognised her and we're really friendly to all of us.
The atmosphere was excellent, there were other tables celebrating birthdays too so it was very jovial.
I had the duck rolls for a starter and the ribs and wings combo for my main. I also had a glass of Freddy Fudpucker (cocktail).
The starter was okay, but was so hot it was difficult to taste anything, but the portion was pretty good as it was also served with some salad bits.
The drink was really good, almost dangerously so as you couldn't really taste the alcohol! It also comes in jugs instead of individual glasses so you could have a great night just trying all the cocktails here.
The ribs and wings combo was the star of the show, the meat fell off the bone, was full of flavour, and I got an incredibly generous portion. It came with salad, chips, and coleslaw, and it was a challenge to finish it all! I also had a few bites of some of the steaks the others ordered, both the lamb and beef were so tender and melted in my mouth. Definitely a must try if you are...
Read moreThis Orpington restaurant does not deserve a star but it had to be rated in order to write this review. This is one of my worst experience at a restaurant. I thought I'd treat my son to a meal at what seems to be a lively Orpington Mexican place to eat. We entered the place to find about ten staff standing around and it seemed like 2 minutes before one of them asked if we had a booking. It was embarrassing. We didn't, so he went around the corner and came back to say they are fully booked but we could have a table around the corner next to the kitchen/exit door. This table was well away from the "other" diners. We accepted the table but wondered why there were still about 4 set tables for 2 and 3 set tables for groups, moreoever during our 1 hour stay, none of these seats was filled. To add insult to injury the meal was tasteless. The salad was wet and the rice was sloppy and cold. The entire meal tasted like it was microwaved. We paid and left within an hour and no one said goodbye to us. I am disappointed in myself as the penny should have dropped at the beginning and we should not have stayed and paid to...
