Fireaway Pizza Forest Hill — Restaurant in London

Would probably give 2.5 stars if I could based on nearby options. The pizza is not bad but this is clearly a chain with Subway vibes... The dough and tomato sauce is good, potentially a 3.5-4, and a decent oven/cook with nice blackening of crust and flavor but the rest of the ingredients are cheap... and their pepperoni was terrible. There are better artisan offerings nearby, Mamma Dough, Bona, Piazza, etc, much better for an extra £1-£3 a Pizza. I also found it a bit cheese heavy, although some may like this, but the cheese quality was not great. What I found fairly atrocious was their pepperoni pizza which actually has turkey pepperoni instead (looked/tasted extremely processed), there was no mention of this in the menu. I later found out that the use of this is due to this being a halal pizza chain, apparently they also use turkey ham... Fair enough, but their lack of actually disclosing this or giving you a disclaimer or option to have something else (like real pepperoni) is very disappointing, no pork in this place. I can see their angle, they are a halal pizza shop and that is a good business plan, but it is almost like they are trying to hide it. Admittedly, this a better pizza than the other big chains (the Hut, dominos, pappa, and they are basically a different product) but in Forest Hill there are much better artisan Pizzas nearby for just a quid or two extra. Where they opening shop in a place with limited options then great, but it in Forest Hill I would have...

Just wow. We were recommended Fireaway pizza by a friend and they did not disappoint. Every aspect was 100%. The pizza was amazing, it was perfectly cooked, the toppings were fresh and it arrived at the perfect temperature. The gentleman who delivered was early and was so polite and friendly. And for vegans or lactose intolerant people their vegan cheese is on point. I especially loved the jalapenos and sundried tomatoes because they were so fresh and did not tatse out of the jar like so many other places. We ordered a side salad, and this can often be an afterthought with pizza places, not so with Fireaway. Everything was so fresh and crunchy. They even included extra dips and all were suitable for veggies, vegans and lactase intolerant people. So impressed. Picture doesn't do anything near it justice! Fireaway Forest Hill is...

I think I just had a religious experience. Promptly delivered, well-cooked, and delicious, the picture shows the a "Roma pizza" with extra jalapeno and extra pepperoni, with the garlic and herb dip. Would recommend. It also shows calories, which helps me manage my food choices more easily.

*yes, most people don't need twice the jalapeno. YMMV.

Since Iceland discontinued the jalapeno pepperoni pizza, I've been struggling to find an alternative. Most pizzerias here don't offer jalapeno toppings, PizzaHut uses a sweet tomato sauce (hard pass) both it and Domino's try to convince you to buy more than you need with nonsense promotions and inflated prices (no and no) so I started looking for the competitors.
