The last time I went to Fivelads was a few years ago. Today, i was driving past the place and thought I'd pop in for a quick lunch with the family. The layout and place looked similar since the last time I was there (5 years ago), but with some updated deco and menu. I ordered the 15-wings platter with 2 sides, chocolate milkshake, kids' gourmet burger, and the normal gourmet beef burger for myself. I enjoyed the food as it was similar to Nandos. The atmosphere was not too busy, but that's probably because it was Saturday afternoon. The family enjoyed the food and we gladly eat all the food. The service was good and had no complaints. One of the two toilets was out of order, but since it was quiet, I didn't have to wait (had toddlers with me, lol). Overall, the place was good enough for a quick bite, but nothing fancy. The prices were similar to Nandos as I spent £40 for my order. There was on street paids parking available outside, but maybe only 2 or 3 cars can fit there. So on busy day s it might be harder to find parking.

My first visit here was on a Saturday night, the place was packed people standing about I walked in and had no idea what was going on. On first impressions, it was chaos with no organisation, I didn't know whether I would be seated, to ask for a table, to just sit or down or just walk out! I managed to grab a table after about 10 minutes still a bit bemused, if it's your first time here expect to be a bit lost, as I was. We ordered a couple of burgers and some wings, they have a very simple approach a little salad and then your burger pattie or chicken. The chicken was good quite flavourful, the beef burger however was very dry and lacking any real flavour, there was nothing that stood out to make this worthy of their signature burger. I have been back again and had just the grilled chicken, only the medium flavour but it has been excellent. This alone is the only reason the place is any good, customer service needs a lot of work.

The food was very good and tastes nice. However for the price you pay I would have expected the portions especially the chips to be slightly larger and the wings to be a little bigger. (Pictures attached) I requested for sauce and they were limited to your standard chicken shop chilli sauce, garlic sauce and tomato ketchup which was deffinately dissapointing. Also there is no table service. Once your food is prepared they leave it on the counter for you to collect. That's fine but when the restaurant is busy and when you don't know your food is ready it can get cold sitting there for a while before somebody realises. The kitchen staff usually have to shout your number which I don't think is great when everybody else in the restaurant are also talking so loud and on top of that kitchen staff constantly shouting numbers. Not a good look. However the taste of the food was good shame on the size of the portions and wings though.

I've been to this place before and they have always been rubbish with their service. But sometimes you think people will learn and give them a chance. Today was the last. I turned up couple minutes before they closed to collect my order. I was greeted with nothing but abuse that i was late and I kept them back. These illegal immigrants acted like they had somewhere to go. Last time I checked they closed at 11pm so no matter what that's when they stop service. But the slightly wide gentlemen behind the counter whom couldn't reach the till due to his over weight stomach. Was giving it the lip service that he told me on the phone 10 mins and I arrived late. But if your reading this Mr, people can't fly from place to place. I understand it might take you longer to move a step at a time so I think you should check your self before commenting. Anyway I paid for the food because I was hungry but believe me if I had a choice I would have slapped the guy behind the counter and hope that would teach him some manners and left. This guy was Very rude and if he had a name badge I would have exposed him. I guess he wanted to go home because it takes longer for him to walk. He said nothing but look at me like i was a dirt bag plus he couldn't be bothered to give me a receipt total bell end. People won't probably take notice of this review but to those whom want proper customer service then PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE A PLAGUE. THEY DO NOT DESERVE A SINGLE STAR. ALSO MAY I ADD THEY MESSED THE ORDER UP AS WELL. THESE BUNCH OF C**TS!!! The food was tasteless felt like they just couldnt be asked and to be honest my cat didn't even want to eat it. All thrown in the bin because giving it to a street begger will...

Just been here for the first time with my brother after hearing so many "awesome" things about this place. To be honest, we were not impressed in the slightest. We ordered a variety platter which consists of a whole chicken cut into quarters. Chicken wings, chicken strips, two sides (we ordered rice and mash potato) and a bottle of drink. We also ordered a extra portion of chips and hummus with pitta bread. Firstly the service was appalling. We were stood, waiting. Eventually got served at the till, ordered and we took our seats. The food is not served to you at your table, you just have an employee shout out a number at the top of his voice, above all background noise which is your order number at the top of your receipt which you are expected to collect. So we were sitting around waiting as we were not aware of our role as a paying customer in this restaurant where we would need to serve ourselves.

Secondly, Wings were nothing to write home about, chicken strips were dry, hard and cold! The hummus was just a cheap supermarket job. Mash potato was very lumpy and lacked any flavour. The rice was an absolute shambles to say the least. It was hard, undercooked and was a microwave job. The chips, I genuinely thought I was eating oven chips. As for the whole chicken, it was cooked, fairly well. The best part was the outer coating of sauce sitting above the actual chicken, which there wasn't a lot of. So once again, nothing spectacular, but it was the best thing on the table for us.

Overall very disappointed, definitely did not live up to our expectations in the slightest, in any shape or form. I would not be returning/recommending this place to...

You know when you're really hungry and you want a nice fulfilling meal. It's just poured with rain so me and my family decide to grab a quick bite. To be honest, really disappointed. We ordered one of the combo meals with a quarter chicken, beef and a chicken burger with chips. Lets start on the good stuff... the chips & potato wedges were nice, though the potato wedges lacked seasoning. Seasoning is my issue. Beef burger really bland no flavour at all, lettuce really minimal, you'd be better off getting a zinger burger from KFC more flavour. The chicken burger was bland and overcooked, quite dry and because it's not coated like a fried burger the dryness really comes through. It lacked seasoning. It's like the same sauce was over the half chicken and the chicken burger - which lacks in flavour. There was no salt. Its almost like everything is out of a packet or poor produce and grilled. Beef burger doesn't taste homemade as expected. Really disappointed... I think we're even more disappointed because we were really hungry. Also toilets mega disgusting. No baby change... had to get on the floor with the baby to change his nappy and keep him from touching the floor, I had my changing mat and stuff, so thats fine, but didn't really like the fact that I had to get on my knees and a flight of stairs with a baby on slippery stairs. Defo wouldn't recommend, wouldn't eat there again. I would rather pay more for quality and eat at Sahara's down the road, baby friendly, clean, food always tastes good and the staff are friendly and ask whether you need anything. Five Lads - concept good -...
