Royal Cafe — Restaurant in London

This café is hands down the worst place I’ve ever set foot in. The food was absolutely disgusting – stale bread, greasy, lukewarm dishes that tasted like they’d been sitting out for hours, and coffee so bitter it was undrinkable. Honestly, a vending machine would serve better quality.

The waiting time was ridiculous. We were left sitting there for nearly 40 minutes before anyone even bothered to take our order, and when the food finally arrived it was cold and looked like it had been scraped together from leftovers.

The hygiene is non-existent. Tables were sticky, cutlery was dirty, and the toilets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Even the staff didn’t look hygienic – hair everywhere, filthy uniforms, and not a clue about basic food handling.

To make matters worse, the manager was downright dodgy. Rude, dismissive, and clearly didn’t care about the state of the place. When we complained, he just shrugged and acted like we were the problem.

Save your money and your stomach – this place is a health hazard and an embarrassment to call...

I think somethings's changed with this place recently, as all of these photos and older reviews are incredibly misleading compared to what you get. Food: I got cold, undercooked veg sausages, (which I suspect were cooked straight from frozen in a frying pan) a miniscule portion of rubbery overcooked mushrooms, and some very wet bubble n squeak. The baked beans were totally fine. Portions overall were definitely small, I got smth else from Sainsbury's on the way home... Service: Waitress greeted me by rolling her eyes at the previous customer's (admittedly poor) smalltalk and later flatly refused to add tomatoes to my breakfast order 20 secs after I placed it, because "the guy was already making it". It still took 20 mins to come out and there were only 3 other people in the caf... They forgot my cutlery and I'd about finished my meal when my toast finally came out. Significantly unenjoyable experience overall. Possibly (likely) the worst fry up brekkie...

Not sure what happened here. This used to be great - clean, huge portions, steaming hot and fresh, friendly service and value for money. However, when I met a friend for lunch recently the tables were dirty despite there being no more than half a dozen customers, I waited for my table to be cleaned but ended up cleaning it myself so my friend could sit down. My egg was small and overdone, the chip portions have dramatically shrunk and they didn't taste particularly fresh or hot. Perhaps worst of all, though was the woman serving who was shrieking with others so loudly we had to leave so that we could hear each other talk. Incredibly...
