Funkey Bee Lounge — Restaurant in London

Today I went to this establishment at around 3.30 pm I only wanted to buy some pounded ram. I was quoted £8 for two pounded yam. The woman behind the counter seemed insulted that I only wanted to buy pounded yam. When I questioned the price she asked me how much I normally pay for pounded yam, I told her usual about £1.50 but no more than two pounds she said she would sell me the yam for three pounds each. As you can all imagine I just looked at her like she was mad and walked out of the empty restaurant . I hate to state the truth but we as black business owners don't do ourselves any favours with this type of greedy ignorant behaviour. What that lady had done is lose what could have been a good customer. Who would have passed on possitive feedback about the restaurant. Instead I am now writing a poor review about my experience at this establishment. In the end I drove down to Tommi's kitchen in Deptford Marked where I bought 2 pounded yams for £3. I know I had to go a bit further but in my mind it was worth it for better price and service. My advise this is one...

I had a very unpleasant experience here. I ordered the grilled fish and when it arrived I could tell it was not fresh. I took a bite and it tasted very dry and stale.

I then sliced it open to remove the spine and remainder of the bones and was absolutely shocked and disgusted to see that inside the fish it was full of mould. There were several spots of white with blue and green furry bits on top so goodness only knows how long it had been sitting around for.

Disgusting that they would try to get rid of food that is obviously extremely old and unfit for human consumption.

I would definitely not eat there again and consider it to be a health and...

I usually order online but I went inside today. A very friendly lady severed me. She was friendly and efficient. This was the fastest time I have received my food from any African type restaurant. The pounded yam seemed to be made fresh which made me happy because usually it’s reheated and hard at other places. My efo was full of flavour and very enjoyable. I recommend.
