Where do I start, it was a party for 19 of us, got there 6.30-7pm. Mezes came at 9 definitely wasn't 7 dishes but thank god for the bread because literally we paid £39.99 for mezes, platter and desert along with bottomless prosecco. We were then told we would have to leave by 10.30 but on the phone told we could have it until 12.00am. The platters literally were so small everyone of us had no more than 3 pieces of chicken and maybe a little rice. No lamb came with these platters which they forgot to mention. Not one of us got pudding. Some of us had a few drinks but for those who didn't drink were sad. Terrible although he has offered some of us to come back to get half price food, I don't think any of us would go back ( first impressions and all). What a shame we all feel completely robbed. False advertisement as we didn't get half of our food and NO pudding. Definitely won't be seeing me again. They should have given us back at least half of our money the same night. Oh yea and also we had to pay for it before we ate, as if they knew they were about to Rob us as we would never have paid for this shambles.
He also owned up and said lack of staff.

Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Gem, a Greek restaurant that turned out to be the worst I've ever visited. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this establishment had serious issues. Firstly, the service was abysmal. Our waiter casually mentioned that most of their products were frozen, which was incredibly disappointing. Greek cuisine is renowned for its fresh ingredients, so to hear that everything was prepackaged and frozen was a major letdown. To make matters worse, the owner was too busy harassing the waitresses to address our complaints. It was evident that the staff were uncomfortable and unhappy, which only added to the unpleasant atmosphere. Moreover, I was appalled to learn that the owner keeps the tips and the service charges for himself. This unethical practice not only demoralizes the hardworking staff but also leaves a sour taste in the mouths of patrons who believe they are rewarding good service. Overall, I would strongly advise against visiting Gem. The combination of poor food quality, terrible service, and unethical management practices make it a place to avoid...
Read moreVery close to giving this 5 stars and I may upgrade in future.
The staff made an effort to accommodate us despite being seemingly full.
I had the mixed kebab as it was my first time in the restaurant, and the mixed cold mezze for starter.
Taboulleh was off the scale, honestly astonishing. The rest of the dips were good, the bread was fantastic. It was difficult to resist filling myself up before my meat had arrived.
When it did I was really happy (and a little intimidated) with the portion size. Both the minced chicken and lamb kebabs were fantastic, the lamb sis and cutlets too.
The only things that was less than excellent were the chicken sis and wings. This might reflect my taste more than anything. Or perhaps it was an indicator of the quality of everything else.
I wish I'd had space for afters as the menu looked pretty vibey.
The only thing stopping it getting 5 stars is the price, because I have definitely eaten the same quality food for less elsewhere. And I'm a cheapskate.
But if you come here you will have an excellent meal. Of that there...
