Our lives just wouldn't be the same without Udderlicious which lies tantalisingly across the road from my daughter's school. This beautiful shop has seen us through our hot summers, school term-end treats, birthdays and many other celebrations. Before lockdown in March, we went to Udderlicious with fellow parents and their children as a final goodbye before lockdown. We as parents wanted to give our kids a final treat before life changed and Udderlicious was our first choice.
This excellent local shop is run by Raj and Raj who are married and two of the most charming and attractive people you could hope to meet. Their service is excellent and effortlessly friendly and they look genuinely happy to see us return time after time.
And then there's the quality of the ice cream. There is simply no comparison in our view. Fresh, creamy and full of intense 'real' flavours using real ingredients. Now that we are in winter, we are making good use of their takeaway service so we can enjoy their ice cream in the warmth of our home. But the experience of eating ice cream in their bijou shop is a pastel coloured childhood fantasy. The pretty pink and blue paper flowers lining the shopfront's window make one feel like they are in a scene from Mary Poppins. There's a swinging chair with entwined flowers that you can sit and swing in while you enjoy your ice cream making you feel just like a child again. And there are so many different flavours and vegan options, boldly experimental as well as all the classic favourites. And there is always a new flavour created based on a suggestion from a child in our community.
I can't say enough about the Udderlicious experience. This is a specialty food experience done with the finest ingredients and the friendliest service. We're total fans come summer or winter and really hope they survive these terrible times. If you ever question whether there is any substantive difference in taste between store bought and speciality ice cream shops, it's time to put the debate to rest. Ice cream from Udderlicious is infinitely better and superior to any ice cream bought in a supermarket store. Udderlicious ice cream is how ice cream should taste but rarely ever does. And don't be put off by the frequently long queue (less common in this weather), it is fast moving and...
Read moreAbsolutely honestly the best vegan ice cream I have ever had in my life. I was looking for some vegan dessert with a friend after dinner one evening and Udderlicious was just 10 minutes away so we decided to check it out. I can't say I was too hopeful, I was expecting a mango sorbet and an icy vegan vanilla ice cream at most.
I was so surprised by the options! We tried the chocolate and sea salt, which was delicious! It was personally too much chocolate for me, but that's just my personal preference! We also tried the matcha and chocolate chip which was definitely my favourite, it was creamy, and not to sweet like most vegan icecreams, absolutely stunning. My other favourite had to be the vegan speculoos ice cream, absolutely divine!
All the flavours are perfectly balanced, the texture of all the ice creams were insanely good and they weren't made ridiculously sweet. It was a quiet evening so we got to sit inside, the seating areas, though tiny, are adorable and comfy. The staff were very sweet and very helpful and all the ice creams are clearly labelled with allergens, making it easy and accessible for everyone!
I really can't compliment this place enough, I can't wait to...
Read moreFirst visit here in years - still got it.
Located bang in the middle of Upper Street Angel North London.
Despite it being in the middle of winter, we still fancied something cold and sweet.
There was such a good variety of flavours, from birthday cake to pistachio to mango sorbet to their monthly special, cinnamon roll. Love that it's all clearly labelled, and that there's vegan flavours too.
As I was the only person in the queue, staff really took her time with me, explaining the flavours and allowing me to taste them too.
We ended going for two regular scoops (£5.95), the pistachio and oreo chocolate cheesecake which was also her favourite too. We also ordered two smaller scoops (£5.20) of the birthday cake and chocolate, you can't go wrong with this really, can you? Also an Americano, which we added some of the ice cream in, new twist.
Great that you have the option of scoop size. There were also options for toppings too.
Tasted fresh with amazing flavours, creamy and rich but not too sweet either, just right.
Small seating area with a cute swing seat. Roughly seats 10 - 12 in total.
Note, there is no toilet available.
Will be returning...
