First of all be ready to get kicked out if you have’t booked. They will kick you out if you walk in without a reservation.
“A reason being is that they are very short of staffs so they are not taking any walk-ins because they cannot guarantee the best service and do not want to ruin someone’s dining experience so they would rather not let walk-ins sit down” says the front man. 3 groups got rejected in front of me so I literally went on their website and booked a table while watching the three groups leave and they let us in. What a clowns. They had plenty of tables just didn’t want to work extra and let the day be busy. If my employee acted this way they would be out of my business the next day.
There were literally 3 tables apart from ours and while we were dining, only 3 more tables came in (“who booked”). The venue was very quiet. Myself alone can cover the whole restaurant if I was a staff there. They just don’t want to put the extra effort to deal with more tables as they are “short of staffs” Why? Because they just get paid whether it is a busy day or not. It’s just an excuse as there are busier businesses operating with fewer staffs. Their input is very poor.
Considering the size of the venue it is true that they looked short of staff, probably noticed 2~3chefs, 2 runners, 1 at the bar, 1 front man. Because in this sized restaurants you would usually see 10 staffs dangling around. Because it always questions me how do they pay all these too many employees working inefficiently.
You can definitely do more with that many staffs to be honest. Rather than having less than half of the restaurant filled because manager kicked all walk-ins out.
I wonder if the company is aware of this.
So if anyone still willing to visit here regardless to their poor management. And they reject you because you haven’t booked. Just book a table on-line in front of them and tell them you just booked. Because they have plenty of tables left. They are not even...
Read moreI came here with my mum, dad, husband and 3 year old son. It was my mums birthday.
We've all eaten at the plough before and had a nice time and good food. On this occasion everything was different despite us all ordering the same meals we had ordered just a couple months prior.
I ordered the sirloin steak meal, I asked for medium. The fillet itself looked like it had been cut in half lengthways from a larger cut, it was over cooked one side and raw on the other. Despite it being a '3 step meal' on the menu, all the components of my meal came in and on different dishes and plates. I was also asked if I wanted small or large chips, but this wasn't indicated on any of the menus. The bbq ribs were also very different in size and taste from previous visits. My dad ordered a mixed grill and his steak was smaller than my 3 year old hands, was scraggy and fatty, not one cut of '4oz' I believe your menu states. The salad bar was practically empty and bits of food was transferred between containers, and was dirty. The waitress was also rude when I asked why my meal was on 3 different dishes. But told me she had done 'the training' on the new menu... that didn't seem new to us. It was very busy, but we didn't have the pleasant experience we had previously and the produce just didn't match up to previous standards. We didn't stay for dessert, and we won't have anymore family meals here...
Read moreVisited recently on a Sunday lunchtime with the wife and there was maybe 4 tables of people?
Waited 10? Minutes to be seated, 5 of which nobody even came to speak to us as we waited/let us know they'd be with us. We nearly turned around and just left.
Waited 30 minutes for any food to come out (it did all come at once, including starters), but didn't eat the halloumi bites as they were way overcooked. The ribs and calamari were however great, with the salad being nice and fresh too.
When we were done, we sat for 10 minutes witn empty plates before flagging someone down and asking if anyone can come to the table as we were being ignored.
They disappeared for 10 minutes before another person came over.
We explained the halloumi was overdone, so not eaten (as nobody came to ask us how our food was at all during the meal), then was told to wait whilst they spoke to the manager. We also asked for the bill too.
A further 10 minutes later, the revised bill came out and we promptly paid and left. We had seen from other customers and experience if you let the staff get away, they vanish for 10 minute blocks.
Lovely food overall, marred by just bad service. We thought they might be busy, but when there were maybe only 15 other people in the restaurant, we soon realised something else must be going on.
Wouldn't recommend...
