I recently had a takeaway from 'Taste of Palestine' in Sutton and was completely blown away! I ordered a large lamb mandi and a chicken mandi, having only ever tried the Yemeni version before. I was curious to see how the Palestinian style would compare, and it did not disappoint.
The whole experience was fantastic, starting with the service. The food was ready surprisingly quickly, and the staff were incredibly kind and courteous, even bringing my order out to me while I waited.
Both the lamb and chicken were unbelievably soft and tender, just falling off the bone. You could tell they had been slow-cooked with care. The flavours were absolutely delicious, and the portions were very generous. My only tiny note would be that the large lamb Mandi could use a little more rice, but honestly, it's a minor point considering how good everything else was.
There's a special kind of magic in a dish like Mandi, which is traditionally cooked in an underground oven. You can really taste the time and patience that goes into creating such a rich and flavourful meal. I'm already looking forward to...

Read moreWe ordered the lamb mandi as it was recommended, and we went back the following day for their wraps. The food was absolutely delicious. I will go back again however, I'm give this 3 stars the shop was advertised as 'Taste of Palestine', however, nothing on the Menu is Palestinian or served as the Palestinians have them apart from the falafel on its own. Mandi is not a Palestinian dish rather from Yemen. The chicken wrap should have been a sawarma but it was just fried chicken wrap. Please sort it out and learn actual Palestinian dish like Makluba, mossakhan, Vine leaves, traditional pasties and dessert. The business be more true...
