Soft launch this week, opening next week. Tonight’s dinner at Home SW13 surpassed all expectation and absolutely everything was fantastic. And I am a tough critic! That Shrimp Burger (actual name) was a delight- perfectly seasoned with hints of ginger and coriander; perfectly shaped and cooked. Buffalo mozzarella with figs and balsamic- so grateful for the choice not to pair figs with goat cheese. The birria tacos were spicy bites bursting with flavor. And the chicken schnitzel had a crunchy breading with nigella and sesame seeds and was beautifully presented with Asian slaw and cucumber. Kudos to the kitchen team who executed each dish to perfection in an extremely timely manner. Nothing seemed rushed or hectic from the dining room and we loved the pace of our meal. Our waiter, Anthony, was very charismatic and quick witted. Friendly and comfortable in his role. All the service we received was warm and welcoming. And of course Alan was there with his beaming smile and endless energy hosting the best party in town. He is a true gem and Barnes is so lucky he has teamed up with Craig to bring a fresh concept into the Barnes dining scene. I love the casual and comfortable vibe of this restaurant and look forward to dining in again soon. Final note to the bartender- best espresso martini ever. Thanks to everyone involved in this...
Read morenice addition to Barnes High Street with plenty of seating. We booked a table for 6:30 on a Thursday, and it was quite empty at first but filled up later. The dishes are comforting pub-style food, with the cauliflower cheese croquettes being a standout. I wouldn’t recommend the focaccia, as it was a bit too crusty and came without anything to dip it in. When we asked for balsamic and oil, we were given malt vinegar instead. The highlight of the menu is definitely the margaritas—the charcoal and breakfast versions are must-tries and highly recommended. All the dishes were good, nothing extraordinary, but solid quality and worth a visit. The service was friendly, with mostly very young staff who seemed unsure at times about when to check in and when to give us space, resulting in a bit of hovering. Despite that, it was an overall lovely experience, and the croquettes alone make it...
Read moreSet in the beautiful village of Barnes in SW London, this is a modernised, spacious restaurant. We went for Lunch on a Saturday. We found the menu offering a choice of 5 starters,8 mains and 5 desserts. Our party of 5 included 2 children aged 4 and 1 and a half.Although there was no kids' menu per se, the children enjoyed their starters, which we used as mains for them.Service was swift and efficient, exactly what you'd like for a lunchtime sitting. The adults in our group had Coq au Vin,Ribeye Steak and a fishcake. The food was tasty and we washed it down with a very acceptable Shiraz. We felt we got value for money in our visit to Church Road.Being very adjacent to the Thames lends itself to a lovely stroll along the banks after our meal.Worth a visit if you're in...
