OKA Restaurant Barnes — Restaurant in London

I thought it would be helpful to add some details to my review as the restaurant has responded with some incorrect information.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant last night on Ubereats. To save money, the restaurant staff make the deliveries themselves rather than using Ubereats riders. This means that the deliveries aren't tracked through the app and the rider needs to message or call when they arrive.

My delivery last night was late and the restaurant and rider did not get in contact with me in any way. I eventually came downstairs to check (sometimes restaurants drop off food outside without contacting the buyer) and found the rider outside with my food. He said that he had been waiting for 10 minutes, but he hadn't messaged or called during that time, just stood outside. The rider bitterly complained about the wait but eventually gave me the food.

This delay wasn't too long, but unfortunately when I received the food the quality was also very poor, especially considering the high price (£20 for a small meal not including delivery or the Ubereats fee). I wouldn't recommend ordering delivery from this restaurant and I suspect that the eat-in experience isn't...

Update: It's been a year since I was last here. Its been a busy year travelling, so nice to check in with the locals.

Oka hasn't dissapionted, nice to see they have kept up the high delicious standard.

The staff are still very welcoming, good service, great menu and do ask to check for the special.

I met a neighbour with his sons, who also enjoyed the fusion of delights on offer.

Nice atmosphere especially in the evening when they dim the lights, good music choice, not loud or intrusive.

This has been my little new year treat, which l am so pleased it still delivered. Anyway must get back to my green tea ice cream. Keep up the good work. 🍵 🐠 🍚 This is a very new place to eat, selling my favorite food. Very nicely decorated, welcoming staff, can sit up to 26 people.

I had the £15 set menu, very well presented and very delicious, with a refreshing cup of green tea.

They have a good selection on the menu, also a good drinks list. Nice to see new businesses flourish and wish them well.

Food was delicious but service was truly awful. Went to celebrate my sons birthday with a sushi feast at his favourite local restaurant (we usually have takeaway) - and alongside the sushi, ordered the cooked salmon dish for my nephew. They unfortunately brought the wrong dish and we had to wait a very long time for the right dish to come out by which time, the remaining five of us had almost finished (our many sushi dishes) and my nephew had to eat his meal alone. We understand mistakes happen and would never normally complain about this kind of thing but there was not one word of apology from any of the staff - including the manager who served us. He made us feel as though we were putting him out by simply asking where the food was after quite some time and was pretty rude generally.
