Hucks is a darling place and quite the hidden gem in our quiet yet lively corner of Walthamstow, the flat whites are particularly wonderful, it’s great that it’s so easy to get to; having lived here for over 30 years I have seen the area change vastly, though so much change can be overwhelming to a neighbourhood, Hucks slipped in and stayed in an understated yet quietly supportive capacity, community spaces even to just grab a take away coffee has become so important since the pandemic. Brilliant coffee and delicious baked goods get ones foot in the door, but the people at its heart keep the family coming back. Well yes, 'cos the coffee really is that good. So is the hot chocolate. Staff are friendly and sometimes a bit evangelical (although that is hardly a fault in this context). It's quite small, so gets crowded easily, but usually tranquil out of peak times. The size may explain why the limited range of cakes and snacks sometimes run low. but worth several visits to get one of their sandwiches.
