India Cottage — Restaurant in London

I didn't even want to leave 1 star, from start to finish the whole experience with Indian Cottage was appalling. I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews, and I apologise to anybody reading this at how lengthy it is. I had gone to a friends for the evening where we were having a get together with several other friends and family. We were told our food would be with us by 8pm latest, and once it had gone past 8 we rang back to check how much longer it would be. We were then told 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes went by and still no food. Once again we rang back to check where our order was, and once again got told it would be 10 minutes. Our food finally arrived, but noticed it was incomplete. My friend rang back for a third time and was told it would be, surprise surprise, a 10 minute wait. 25 minutes passed this time and the rest of our order still hadn't arrived. A fourth phone call to them resulted in 3 of us going up there to collect it in person. We asked for a refund after waiting 2 hours in total for our order, and were told to take a seat and wait for the manager to come out to us and arrange something. Another 20 minutes passed waiting around with no food, and the manager finally made an appearance. To our shock there was no apology for the now 2 and a half hour wait, and a rather horrific display of "customer service". He continued to raise his voice at us (even though we had remained polite and calm throughout) and proceeded to tell us he "didn't care if he lost our loyal custom" after acknowledging we had all been going there for years. In word...

We ordered a take away that arrived over one hour later , on opening the white plastic bag it was deliver in ,it was very obvious that two of the dishes had been squashed, the lids were off , the contents was mixed in with the other food ( one being vegetarian) sauce was leaking out of the bag , it was unbelievable! On calling the Restaurant, we were told not to worry , that they would redeliver within 30 minutes ! One and a half hour’s later , and after many phone calls that were not been picked up by the Restaurant , in fact the calls were being cut off , we decided to pick at some of the originally food delivered , as by then we were hungry , the nan bread was undercooked ,soft and floppy, the popadoms were also soft , the yoghurt sauce tasteless , the quality of all the food was so bad , that we could not eat it !

All we really wanted was a refund which we did not manage to get , due to the lack of any sort of response when trying to contact them by phone .. We payed just over £40 for very substandard food . I Would definitely not recommend this...

I recently had the displeasure of ordering from Indian cottage which im a regular customer and I can confidently say that it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. After waiting a mind-boggling 2 hours for my food to arrive, you can imagine my disappointment when the delivery person finally showed up with cold, seemingly forgotten food. Not only was the food inedible due to its temperature, but the starter I had been looking forward to was missing entirely which happens quite often.

To add insult to injury, after subjecting me to this torturous wait and delivering subpar, cold food, they had the audacity to charge me an extra £2.50 for the privilege when their food is already overpriced. I can't help but feel utterly disrespected and taken advantage of.

This entire ordeal has left me deeply dissatisfied and quite frankly, appalled. I will certainly never be ordering from Indian Cottage ever again, and I strongly advise others to steer clear if they value their time, money,...
