IRO Sushi (Welling) — Restaurant in London

Food is really good, but very poor service for a couple of reasons

1. they were running a promotion where the 7th order was meant to be 50% off. Today when I contact them to say my 7th order has no discount applied they tell me this has been pulled at the end of June. There was no mention of a timeline ever, on the app or on the text messages. I feel totally misled as a customer. When I contacted their manager, he said the terms were provided in June last year - so, all the customers using the app and calling on the phone have no clue about these terms (neither did the branch)

Reading the 5* reviews I built up expectations, well it was a total let down. Poor taste, the tempura is cheap commercial premade one, the sushi rice lacks taste, probably missing a bit of vinegar. The wasabi, which is made in China, is the worse wasabi ever tasted. So overall for the price, I don't recommend, at all, if this was a cheap high street mass production place, then I might have accepted the food, but this is definitely not a good Japanese restaurant. We've been visiting IRO since they opened their Welling branch and experienced both, eat-in & take-away services. Do not expect fancy dining as this very much take-away oriented establishment. BUT they more than make up for the lack of "fanciness" - their food is amazingly tasty & always fresh & well prepared.
